This position will provide administrative support to The Hartford's Law Department, reporting to a Legal Operations Team Leader.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be proficient in PowerPoint, have experience in executive-level calendaring, and demonstrate strong prioritization and decision-making skills to manage scheduling conflicts. They will be adept at managing a diverse range of administrative tasks.

  • Provide efficient administrative support and manage complex calendars, including appointments, meeting requests, and travel arrangements, using prioritization and decision-making skills to resolve potential scheduling conflicts.
  • Ensure timely submission of expense reports in accordance with company policy.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of PowerPoint presentations.
  • Uphold an elevated level of confidentiality.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external constituents.
  • Meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Act as a proxy for assigned leaders in company and Law Department systems (e.g., expense reporting, Concur Travel, Coupa, Workday).
  • Attend team staff meetings, help in developing agendas, and provide updates on various administrative news and practices.
  • Participate in Law AA team huddles, engage with peers, and, after learning the role, take part in ongoing AA initiatives of interest.
  • Complete other ad hoc duties or special projects as requested.
  • Contribute to department events and meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A high school diploma is required. Bachelor's or Associate degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting upper-level management is preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and grammar.
  • Diligence: Meticulous and capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Initiative: An initiative-taker and forward thinker who actively seeks opportunities and solutions.
  • Integrity: Shows a mature and sophisticated approach to information security, data privacy, and confidentiality with impeccable judgment and tact.
  • Organization: Proactive with strong organizational skills and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Team Collaboration: A team player with excellent people skills who thrives in a collaborative environment with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Exceptional calendar management skills and proficiency in PowerPoint are essential. Knowledge of conference room technology, coupled with expertise in the Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) is required. The ability to quickly master new internal systems and applications, such as Workday, Coupa and MS Copilot, is also crucial.

What else can you tell me?

This position will be the company's hybrid in-office and remote work schedule (in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and remote on Monday, Friday). The selected candidate must be willing and able to be responsive and flexible with their schedule as needed for ad hoc in-office duties on Monday, Friday.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$64,800 - $97,200
