Overview of the role: This newly formed role will lead the expense reporting team for Hartford Funds. The role involves driving financial excellence and influencing the firm's ability to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team that thoroughly reviews all expenses (actuals and forecast), ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Establishes disciplined, repeatable departmental processes that ensure consistency and reliability in financial data.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of departmental budgets, developing a comprehensive understanding of variances and their implications.
  • Create insightful reports and analyses that inform strategic decision-making, with a focus on expense allocations for various profitability views.
  • Creates the firms expense story, translating data into a clear narrative.
  • Work to continuously improve the contract management process, collaborating with accounting and The Hartford's Procurement team to streamline operations.
  • Undertake special projects and additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of finance and accounting experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Superior Excel modeling skills; ability to create flexible financial models.
  • A high level of comfort with in-person interactions across all levels of the organization, need to be a "connector" that is ensuring the right business discussions are taking place and that all groups are effectively communicated with.
  • Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced, hands-on department
  • No asset management industry experience necessary; this role is a great entry point for someone eager to learn the industry.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$125,000 - $165,000
