This role requires strong emotional intelligence, innovative thinking, curiosity to solve business problems, and strong influence and ability to build followership to lead transformative projects in a complex, matrixed environment.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, Global Specialty, this role will be at the heart of driving continuous operational improvements-managing organizational initiatives, providing strategic support to COO, GS, and Head of Transformation while partnering with strategy to guide teams through change.
Responsible for significant programs where scope is subject to change and there is a high degree of organizational risk, behavioral / mindset changes, and level of adaptability to adjust to pace of change. Program objectives address complex business initiatives. The program may span the enterprise (e.g., involving many lines within Commercial and Consumer, cross line of business in Wealth, etc.) Quantity and scope of subprojects may require the creation and management of a Program Management or Change Management Office to support the program, and will likely require the integral involvement of a solutions provider/vendor.

This role is based in our Hartford, CT Home Office on a hybrid basis. Other office locations and remote arrangements may also be considered.
How You Will Transform:
- Change Leadership & Mindset Shifts: Champion adaptability and a positive change mindset across teams. Design and implement strategies that reduce resistance and enhance adoption of new initiatives. Drive leader accountability in adoption and leadership through change, acting as a transformation coach, supporting employees in navigating change.
- People & Process Transformation: Lead cross-functional teams in the development and execution of change management plans, including communications and stakeholder engagement campaigns, to support organizational goals and anchor changes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business goals with technology and with organizational transformation efforts.
- Communication: Translate complex changes into user-friendly experiences; ensure technology implementations are aligned with business needs and user adoption strategies. Develop frameworks and toolkits to improve workflows, productivity, and employee engagement; facilitate workshops, training, and communication strategies that empower teams.
- Insights: Leverage best-practices, data-driven insights, observations and analysis that both, test and learn and drive continuous improvement. Develop thoughtful, creative and sustainable practices to establish metrics, and measure the effectiveness of change. Collaboratively partner to evaluate the success of implemented strategies and make data-driven adjustments as needed to ensure sustainable, positive impact.
What You Will Bring:
- Proven experience in change management, transformation strategy, or organizational development in a large corporate setting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizations and teams through large and continuous change. This involves articulating a clear vision, inspiring and motivating employees, and creating a sense of ownership and accountability.
- Experience leading or supporting technology-driven and process-driven transformation projects.
- Advance competencies related to adaptability, agility, and responsiveness to evolving conditions spanning the business; partner with leadership HR, Training Teams, etc. to develop tools facilitating change adoption (ex: Strategic Workforce Planning, training)
- Exceptional ability and experience successfully influencing, communicating, and coaching at all levels. The ideal candidate is a "storyteller" who can communicate complex ideas in a cogent, crisp, succinct, concepts that inspire change.
- Strong understanding of how people, process, data, and technology intersect in modern organizations.
- Superior collaboration and influence skills, including ability to manage and negotiate with multiple stakeholders in a complex matrixed organization with proven ability to earn the trust of the senior leadership team by supporting their vision, while simultaneously influencing their vision as a thought partner; builds effective relationships.
- Strong execution and experience leading complex projects and managing deadlines.
- Hands-on experience with change frameworks (ADKAR, Prosci, Kotter or Change Consulting is a plus).
- Mindset & Attributes: Highly adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity; passionate about continuous improvement and innovation; high EQI and TQI, empathetic and people-centric approach to change; data-driven and able to translate insights into action; strong facilitator with a knack for storytelling and engagement.

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$134,800 - $202,200
