Job Description

Overview:

The Placement and Tutoring Coordinator, under the direction of the Assistant Director, will support program coordination for academic critical reading assessment, Tutoring, and Supplemental Instruction (SI). This includes assisting with communication, technical and logistical processes, tutoring and SI programs, and in referring students to the appropriate academic, health and wellness, and social supports on campus.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience related to academic advising, academic placement assessment/testing, counseling, and/or educational program development
  • Familiarity with academic programs and requirements, student services policies and procedures
  • Experience with assessment, testing, interpretation and application of test results, and techniques for compiling data and reporting outcomes
  • Familiarity with standardized and college placement testing, and multiple measures placement approaches
  • Experience with group facilitation and the ability to make public presentations in a small or large group setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree, preferably in education, psychology, higher education administration or a related field
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment
  • Familiarity and experience with Hispanic Serving Institutions
  • Ability to communicate in more than one language
  • Ability to effectively interpret data to provide actionable insights for student placement
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
  • Professional experience in higher education setting

Working Conditions:


This is an on-site, in-person position in Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities.
