This position is located at Hogan Regional Center in Danvers, Ma.

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is excited to announce a career growth opportunity to a motivated and talented individual for a Maintenance Working Foreman position at the Northeast Region at Hogan Regional Center.

The Maintenance Working Foreman meet daily with the Maintenance Supervisors to discuss priorities and the planning of future jobs and ordering supplies. They will also work closely with other members of the maintenance staff to perform job-related tasks and projects. The Maintenance Working Forman will also be responsible for the supervision of staff of a lower grade.

Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):

  • Obtain quotes and submit purchase order requests for supplies.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on power equipment and tools.
  • Operate front end loader skid-steers, zero turn lawnmower, landscaping power tools and landscaping equipment.
  • Operates aerial and scissor lift equipment.
  • Perform locksmith duties including repairs and installations.
  • Make concrete forms and pour finished concrete.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel in completing projects and tasks.
  • Snow removal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications, Licenses and Certifications at hire:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Dig safe and trench training.
  • Willingness to obtain pesticide licensure within one year.
  • Experience with snow removal operations.
  • Current DT Medical Card.
  • Current MA.2A/1C Hoisting Engineering License.
  • Current Mobile Equipment Operators Certification compliant with ANSI A92.5, A92.6 Standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and applications.
  • OSHA 10 Training Certification.
  • Ability to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, practices, read and comprehend instructions.

Schedule Information:

Full-time 40 Hours
Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:30p.m.
Days off: Saturday and Sunday

Flexibility required to meet the needs of the office.

ALL EMPLOYEES ARE PAID ON A BI-WEEKLY BASIS AND MUST HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT.

Qualifications

First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
Minimum Entrance Requirements:

Applicants must have at least two years of full-time, or equivalent part- time, experience in building maintenance, repair and/or construction or in a building construction trade.

Special Requirements:

1. Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts
Motor Vehicle Operator's License may be required.

2. Based on assignment, incumbents may be required to possess the appropriate certification or licensure as a pesticide applicator in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Massachusetts Pesticide Board of the Department of Food and Agriculture (Code of Massachusetts Regulations #333 1.00 through 10.00).

Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
