Leidos is seeking a Distribution Engineering Leader for Third Party distribution engineering. This role will require previous experience with third party distribution projects and make ready engineering designs for electric utilities. You'll be working directly with clients to make sure that Leidos' reputation for high-quality work is always maintained.

This role is remote in nature, but candidates located in the Northeastern US will be preferred, as this helps us best serve the needs of our localized utility clients.

In this role, You can expect to:

  • Participate in program management tasks, working alongside project management teams to ensure timeliness of client deliverables
  • Assist with workflow management tasks; Review and organize existing program work
  • Oversee project margins and aid maintaining project budgets
  • Execute QA/QC tasks for your design team; You will play a role in quality reviews of your team's designs prior to submittals for client projects
  • Perform 3rd party make ready design and analysis; potentially work on capital/ reliability design (i.e. reconductor, voltage conversion, DG, FLISR, underground, etc. designs)
  • Interface directly with clients in Reviewing engineering design packages
  • Perform functional tasks, planning, and/or customer follow-up
  • Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client priorities

What Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):

  • A minimum of 4 years of Relevant experience working with Third Party Make Ready Projects for electric utilities
  • Completed Associates Degree in a technical or design field is minimum education requirement
  • Candidates with a competed bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline will be preferred.
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
  • Experience with engineering design quality control
  • Familiarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman, or related)
  • Demonstrated Experience with development of civil & electrical packages associated with complex cable/conduit in dense urban environments; Experience working with US-based electric utilities either in a consulting environment or directly at a utility is required

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with STORMS software and GIS
  • Engineering Bachelor's degree may be preferred, but not required
  • Experience with Right-of-way applications and permitting
  • AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with consulting environment for electric utilities

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
