Job Description
Overview:
The director of Student Wellness CARE is responsible for helping to address the needs of students facing a variety of concerns, whether it be personal, academic, medical, financial, behavioral or other general concerns. This office focuses on connecting with students who have come to the attention of others in some manner because of personal and family crises; business of being a student; mental health or physical health concerns; basic needs insecurities (e.g., food, housing, transportation resources); challenges with understanding academic policies and advocating for themselves (taking a leave of absence, communicating with faculty, etc.); and other disruptive events or assistance with general wellness needs. Additionally, this office focuses on connecting students to resources and referring them to on-campus departments and off-campus community organizations. On-campus departments include but are not limited to Counseling and Health Services, Center for Accessible Academic Resources, Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Residence Life and University Police. Off-campus community organizations include but are not limited to Salem Hospital, LHAND, Samaritans, HAWC, and NRSCC.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in social work, community development, higher education student affairs, human resources, social administration, or a related field
- Three to five years of progressively more responsible management experience including supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experienced working in a multiracial and multi-ethnic environment with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles
- Demonstrated leadership in crisis management preferably in a higher education setting
- Supervision of professional full-time staff
Working Conditions:
This is an on-site, in-person position in Salem, MA with on-campus responsibilities.
