Job Opening:

The Department of Public Utilities, seeks applicants for a Damage Prevention Compliance Officer to perform the following duties:

Position Overview:

The DPU is accepting resumes and applications for the position of Damage Prevention Compliance Officer in its Damage Prevention Program. The Pipeline Safety Division of the Department of Public Utilities has the authority to investigate, conduct hearings, and issue statutory civil penalties for violations of the Dig Safe Law. The purpose of the Dig Safe Law is to prevent damage to underground utilities. The Compliance officer will support the Division's enforcement proceedings.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring Dig Safe Violation Reports are correctly catalogued in Microsoft Excel and Share Point.
  • Update Division enforcement actions in shared database(s)
  • Reconciling Public Records Request
  • Prepare and sort documents from shared mailbox for data management
  • Create and maintain logs and reports from shared database for tracking purposes
  • Update database as damage prevention cases progress
  • Review discrepancies in reports and data
  • Ensure excavators respond and/or make payments to the Division within regulatory timeframes
  • Assisting Damage Prevention Staff as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in data management
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with SharePoint


Qualifications

Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in investigatory, law enforcement or regulatory administration work, or (B) and equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Substitutions:

A Bachelor's or higher degree may be substituted for the required experience.

Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
