Position Summary
This Co-Op will support the Labor & Employee Relations Specialists in ensuring adherence to applicable labor and employment and other laws, collective bargaining agreements, policies, and procedures. The Co-Op will have the opportunity to learn about labor case management, sit in on a variety of labor hearings and get a better understanding of the practical applications of many labor policies, laws and agreements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists Labor & Employee Relations Specialists in investigations.
- Supports hearings by taking notes in pre-disciplinary, Loudermill and Step II grievance hearings.
- Draft notices for lower level disciplinary matters.
- Gathers evidence related to investigations, disciplinary proceedings, and grievances.
- Assist in the documentation and maintenance of Labor related procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to learn, understand, and apply related labor and employment laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Strong writing skills.
- Ability to meet established deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated thoroughness and follow through on all assigned tasks.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Word applications and the ability to learn new technology.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
