AES is accelerating the future of energy. We are looking for a Team Lead, Short-Term Fundamentals in the AES Clean Energy commercial business. This role will support the commercial platform with short-term fundamental market analysis (inside five years), supply/demand forecasting, price assessment, and Point of View (POV) development. This leader will partner with Trading, Market Intel, Structuring, and other commercial teams. Professionals with varied experience are encouraged to apply and the role may be adjusted to experience level.

Main Responsibilities
• Work with the Trading and Market Intel & Fundamentals desks to develop POV cases for our markets. Contribute to hedging decisions and support commercial activity on existing positions and prospective projects.
• Consult with our Regulatory and External Affairs teams on an ongoing basis to assess developments that impact our competitive landscape. Anticipate developments that may lead to opportunities or threats.
• Produce regular market POV reports to support our commercial business in power, capacity, and RECs. With Commercial colleagues and Risk teams, present our POV to Management and Governance committees.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field. Advanced degree desirable in an analytic discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in commercial market analysis, ideally in US renewables, power, and gas markets.
• Broad knowledge of US power and gas markets, ideally including renewables and environmental products.
• Strong organizational skills and experience managing dynamic workflow and multiple projects.
• Excellent written, spoken, and presentation communication skills.
• Flexible and adaptable commercial agility, ability to reorder critical analysis projects based on new commercial requirements, under tight deadlines and sometimes changing requirements.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $109,000 and $136,000/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment.
