Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross functional engineering projects. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. They are responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for planning, execution & delivery of multiple high complex projects or portfolios.

• Work with Project Stakeholders (Ex. Product Manager, FAE/Sales, Engineering Manager etc.) to define the Project Goals.
• Well plan and manage the Project Core Team activities to achieve Project Goals.
• Work with team for well control of project documentation following LEANPD process
• Organize, lead and motivate project team, and challenge the functions to take ownerships of the project objectives.
• Project Schedule Management:
- Ensure project schedule is reasonably planned and updated in time.
- Lead Project team to launch products quickly and meet Time to Market target.
• Project Budget and Financial Management :
- Ensure project budget are well planned and updated in time.
- Achieve a competitive Cost from both Design and Manufacturing efforts.
- Lead team to create Project P&L to evaluate Project financial performance.
• Project Scope and Change Management:
- Ensure PRD is clearly defined under Key Stakeholder agreements.
- Clarify the Project Scope, make sure no Scope Creep happens.
- Lead Project team to evaluate impacts on Project changes.
• Project Resource Management
- Ensure the project is "staffed for success".
- Negotiate with functional managers and Project Approval Committee (PAC) to alleviate resource constraints as needed.
• Project Risk and Issue Management
- Lead Project team to identify Project Risks, create and follow up mitigation actions proactively.
- Manage project on-going Issues.
- Escalate Project Risk or Issues when needed to get supports.
• Discipline the System
- Ensure that the team are operating according to the LEANPD process.
- Keep people focused on the matters at hand as well as their area of responsibility.
- Report out project status to PAC following contract date.

What your background should look like:

  • A minimum of 10 years professional experience & at least 6 years working experience in Project Management or equivalent leadership proven skills in leading, developing, and managing global project.
  • Strong Project Management Skills including ability to Plan, Organize and execute projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong Communication Skills including clearly convey project objectives, expectations, and deadlines to team members, stakeholders, and also be able to listen actively and address any concerns or issues that arise.
  • Knowledge of Connector and Cable assembly Product design/Manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Risk Management mindset: Ability to anticipate problems and resolve them before they become significant issues.
  • Knowledge of a matrix organization and how to navigate it.
  • Project management expertise to drive time to market balanced with commitment to quality.
  • Good presentation and excellent communication skills.
  • Plan the project through Microsoft Project Pro software.
  • Good at Oral and Written English
  • PMP is preferred.
