Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

This Staff Product Development Engineer position will be hybrid from our Fuquay-Varina, NC location.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop high voltage cable accessories, including connectors, terminations, and joints, ensuring compliance with IEEE, IEC, AEIC and ICEA standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management, to ensure seamless integration of accessories into high voltage systems.
• Conduct voice of the customer interviews and integrate VOC into product design requirements
• Oversee the prototyping and testing phases of product development, including product performance evaluations, reliability testing, and failure analysis and design validation testing.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design reports, test plans, failure analysis reports and user manuals.
• Represent TE's interest in industry forums and stay up to date on changes and trends in the industry
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
What your background should look like:
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Power Systems, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PE) is a plus.
• 5+ years' experience, including experience in the design and development of high voltage cable accessories or related components, preferred. Those whose experience is with medium voltage will also be considered.
• Strong knowledge of high - or medium - voltage electrical systems, insulation materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ANSI).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an international team.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with international projects and a global understanding of high voltage standards.
• Familiarity with advanced testing methodologies and diagnostic equipment.
• Molding experience of silicones and EPDMs and plus

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $113,800 - $170,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
