TE Connectivity's Engineering Managers provide leadership for cross-functional engineering teams. They work with senior management to define technical road maps aligned with market directions and communicate across other Business Units to share applicable technology. Our Engineering Managers leverage TE global technology to increase competitive position and increased value to our customers. They identify relevant technology trends and opportunities, develop relationships and partnerships with key customers, industry leaders and core suppliers, define and manage IP strategy, assess talent and implement development plans to assure succession planning and organization capability.

TE Connectivity's R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products and introduce them into manufacturing. They are responsible for product development and qualification from market definition through release to production. The product development process includes concept generation, design verification and process validation to ensure requirements are met. Responsibilities include testing on new and modified designs, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp.
The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, 3D models, 2D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.
The specific role is the Manager and leader of the Piezo R&D/Product Development team for the Sensors Business Unit. This team utilizes piezoelectric materials to create sensors that are used in a wide variety of applications within the industrial, medical and military spaces.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage the Engineering team on day-to-day execution of New Product Development (NPD) and Sustaining projects
• Create a welcoming and efficient working environment
• Act as a mentor for junior engineers
• Act as the Responsible Design Owner for the product line to manage all Part Numbers and documentation
• Develop strategies to improve execution
• Create technical roadmaps aligned with Product Management
• Support the team in the creation of project requirements to ensure efforts remain within scope, on-cost and on-time.
• Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality and Product Management to ensure successful coordination
• Assist in the creation of technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, and product specifications
• Supervise and troubleshoot engineering sample builds
• Support product validation and verification testing
What your background should look like:
BACKGROUND:
• High degree of interpersonal skills to act as a strong team leader and interact cross-functionally with the many different teams within Sensors
• BS degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• Master's degree welcomed
• 7 plus years' experience in Design & Manufacturing
• Successful record of managing a local and remote team of Engineers
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
• Experienced skills with CAD software including AutoCAD, CREO, Inventor, SolidWorks, Windchill/PDMLink.
• Six Sigma training and certification
• DFMEA and DFM experience
• Experience in low to mid-volume manual assembly
• Not required, but beneficial to the role:
• Understanding of piezo technology
• Screen printing

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $149,700 - $224,500 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
