Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Distribution & Logistics Teams manage the efficient flow of goods, services and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements or internal business objectives. They create integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics, and outside suppliers. They also focus resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes, and establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis.

Long Description

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Manage our Americas region transportation 3PL provider, including the integration of our 3PL transportation management system (TMS) with our supply base, manufacturing plants and distribution centers to ensure all TE-paid transportation is being booked, optimized, and tracked properly.
  • Manage our key performance indicators including on-time pickup %, on-time delivery %, quality of shipments, and various cost metrics by mode and across all modes (overall network efficiency).
  • Drive improvements in our mode selection, freight consolidation, tracking visibility, exception alerts, etc.
  • Work with our 3PL partner and business units to identify and implement transportation improvement projects. Six Sigma experience is a plus.
  • Lead multiple projects / initiatives at same time in a project management capacity
  • Create SOP's/Rules of engagement

What your background should look like:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of domestic North American transportation management experience.
  • Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or Engineering; Bachelors will be accepted with over 10 years experience
  • Self-motivated and comfortable managing workload and making decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Must have STRONG proven Project Management background, Certification preferred
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office skills (powerpoint/excel)
  • Ability to build and motivate project teams.
  • Strong analytical/process flow skills.
  • Experience using one or more transportation management systems (SAP/TMS/S4HANA).
  • Experience implementing a transportation management system (TMS) is a plus.
