Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Marketing Communications teams design, execute and report on internal and external communications and PR activities, engaging with customers, outside agencies and industry organizations. They define the messages and oversee the implementation of initiatives that engage key audiences using a variety of approaches, including internal communications, media, public relations and social media, developing ideas and stories to execute internal and external communications. They leverage a trend or storyline emerging from multiple inputs, e.g., team meetings, reports, social and traditional media, politics and current events, to elevate TE's brand in the market and partner with marketing colleagues to ensure campaigns, lead generation and market-facing communications complement one another to drive marketing results and manages the relationship with TE's public relations agency of record and assigned budget. The Communications team collaborates closely with various stakeholders from executive leadership team and Human Resources to a variety of product, sales and internal marketing partners.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Internal Communications to lead, develop, and implement an innovative internal communication roadmap across our Global Automotive organization that aligns to our goals while fostering an inclusive and high performance, customer centric culture. This pivotal role will drive communication initiatives focused on driving employee engagement and brand awareness, the ideal candidate must be an expert at communicating in written and visual forms. Working as both a strategist creating communications plans and programs, and as the tactician who executes those programs, they must be self-directed and able to flawlessly and simultaneously execute a high volume of projects that support a variety of different stakeholders. They also must be passionate about the work they do, able to adapt quickly to changes in plans, goals, or objectives, and demonstrate the ability to support communications needs for a regular cadence of unexpected developments, as well as planned strategic communications activities. Key skills include the ability to excel at message delivery, be a master storyteller, understand the role of communications in the change management process, and communicate with a style that captures the author's voice and intent, and achieves the desired objectives. The successful candidate will partner with a broad stakeholder network to ensure that communication strategies are cohesive and effectively executed. In this role you report to the VP of HR for Global Automotive with close alignment with our Segment Communications leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with the global AUT leadership teams to create engaging internal communication initiatives that promote transparency, collaboration, and strategic alignment.
  • Cross Auto Teams: Coordinate and inspire regional internal communication professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and goal-oriented outcomes.
  • Align and Integrate Communications: Partner with regional colleagues to ensure internal campaigns are aligned and mutually supportive, driving unified messaging across the organization.
  • Measure and Improve Effectiveness: Monitor and evaluate internal communication tools and programs, ensuring they contribute effectively to the achievement of business unit goals.
  • Global Leadership: Supervise and coordinate functional leadership relationships, proactively addressing communication challenges and ensuring global consistency.

  • Ability to lead communications on sensitive business issues such as market fluctuations, sustainability concerns, and crisis management.
  • Mastery of copywriting and editing, ensuring all internal communication aligns with brand vision and strategy.
  • Skilled in managing town halls, webcasts, and other internal meetings to foster transparency and engagement.

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor's degree with 20+ years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 15+ years.
  • Extensive experience in corporate communications, internal communications, or a related field, with a track record of leading high-impact programs in a global organization.
  • Proven expertise in leading and managing teams, fostering a collaborative and high-trust environment.
  • Experience in developing and executing communication strategies that align with corporate vision and drive employee engagement.
  • Fluent in English (C1 Advanced / C2 Proficient) is a must! Native would be an advantage
