Job Description:

As Vice President - AML Engineering, you will be part of the AML Remediation Technology leadership team within Enterprise Protect and have accountability for a large engineering organization that is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing operations of critical technology in the AML domain. This role will report to the Senior Vice President, AML Remediation.

Accountabilities include:

Technology Strategy & Platform Engineering

  • Developing the technology strategy and roadmap for critical platforms including Transaction Monitoring and Customer Risk Rating in partnership with business facing technology leaders
  • Ensuring that the platforms are designed to support the unique needs of the US and Canada, while preserving the integrity of such platforms
  • Driving the evaluation, selection and implementation of technology in partnership with business leaders, business facing technology leaders and various P&T teams
  • Owning the design and development efforts for applications in the portfolio

Talent Management

  • Establishing a leadership structure to meet growing demands for AML capabilities in the US and Canada
  • Building out an engineering team with the optimal combination of full time talent and vendor partners
  • Developing a vendor based offshore presence for the engineering team
  • Partnering with HR and Recruitment to identify & recruit top talent
  • Ongoing talent management to ensure team members have meaningful development plans and rewarding careers

Support & Operations

  • Ensuring operational processes and support structures are in place for all applications in the portfolio
  • Driving strong end to end data management operational practices to ensure the integrity and reliability of feeds from partners that enable critical AML functions
  • Leading currency and platform health related initiatives to enable secure and stable operations
  • Driving continuous improvement to ensure optimal availability and resiliency of the platform
  • Owning appropriate technology vendor relationships, including ongoing contract negotiations and associated budgets

Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline
  • 15+ years experience in software engineering with strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, systems architecture, integration patterns, high resiliency, and highly performant systems
  • 10+ years of leadership experience, leading teams of 100+ engineers
  • Experience in AML technologies is highly desired inclusive of transaction monitoring, customer risk rating etc
  • Proven ability to evaluate technology options and drive technology selection / decisions, including build vs buy scenarios
  • Must be skilled in navigating the organization, developing meaningful relationships, influencing stakeholders and driving value for the organization
  • Proven ability to successfully lead transformational change that impacts technology, people and process
  • Skillful communicator and influencer to build relationships advance decision making and effect change over time
  • Strong coach and developer of people with a demonstrated track record in talent management
  • Highly motivated individual, with demonstrated outstanding people management, leadership and coaching skills
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Proven negotiation and influencing abilities, with contract/vendor management experience an asset
  • Strong communicator, with excellent oral, written and presentation skills
