Job Description:

This position reports to the AVP, Platforms & Technology: Audit & Regulatory Response Unit (TAR-U) and is responsible for providing guidance on responses to regulators, audits and 2nd Line (RASL) requests. TAR-U is responsible for increasing Platforms & Technology's effectiveness on responding to Regulators, Auditors, & 2nd Line (RASL) stakeholders. The successful candidate is a results-driven individual, who thrives in a fast pace, complex environment. The key objective of this role is to review and draft responses to RASL requests ensuring full compliance with regulations and internal policies. In this role you will be accountable for managing a team and will have the following core responsibilities:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required.
  • Oversees and leads a large and/or highly complex and diverse function for an area of significant risk, complexity, or scope.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will provide direction on how to respond / position regulators, audits and 2nd Line (RASL) requests with the appropriate scope and lens.
  • Critical thinker with extensive background in the regulations and audits with previous experience working at / with regulatory bodies.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, expertise in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating regulatory risks.
  • Ability to learn new financial systems, tools, and concepts, and will stay up to date on industry trends, regulations and of emerging issues.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for challenging the status quo and taking action to achieve results.
  • Adaptable to strict deadlines. With the ability to understand the change / impact from regulations, controls, frameworks, policies, standards, processes, procedures, etc. and will keep the RASL responses updated proactively.
  • Ability to take a complex scenario and break it down to a simple story (Strong storytelling skills)
  • Ability to present to senior executives (VP, SVP, EVP, SEVP) with strong interpersonal skills to achieve consensus between different stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate through a large organization and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive optimal outcome and will have strong interpersonal skills to bridge the gap between different stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with Senior Managers of TAR-U to ensure messages to stakeholders and/or employees are consistent, appropriate and aligned to the bank strategies and executive management direction.
  • Act as strategic partner to leadership teams, with deep industry, external / internal, enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities
  • Act as a brand ambassador for TAR-U

Job Requirements

  • Ability to thrive within an active environment with a high level of ambiguity with the need to be agile and adapt to last-minute changes/events.
  • Experienced in reprioritizing timelines due to shifting objectives / business needs.
  • Able to deliver on multiple priorities and the requests of multiple stakeholders in a fast paced and very dynamic environment.
  • Identify, assess, monitor, report on and help prioritize the remediation risk and control gaps
  • Collaborate with partners by providing expertise to enable informed decisions in alignment with regulations.
  • Strong communications, relationship management & presentation skills. Must be comfortable in working with executive levels up to/including SVP's, senior executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and interact with all levels including senior executive leaders; collaborate and influence individuals.
  • Ability and demonstrated experience in exercising sound judgment, dealing with sensitive information and situations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills coupled with an ability to coordinate multiple priorities and deliver high quality work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral; active listener and ability to distill and consolidate information into clear and concise information.

  • Enable, oversee, and support TAR-U with the following core capabilities:
  • TAR-U will lead back-office activities to draft responses and will actively support stakeholders.
  • TAR-U will streamline and proactively manage how we respond to regulators and auditors, executing with consistency, speed & accuracy.
  • Create in-house proficiency on regulatory and domain level knowledge to provide subject matter expertise on draft responses.
