Job Description:

Position Summary

TD Bank Financial Group is regulated by and subject to supervision and examination by the Office of Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada) and other regulators of financial institutions in various jurisdictions in which we carry our business in (e.g. Monetary Authority of Singapore, Hong Kong Monetary Authority, etc.). As a member of the TDS Client Due Diligence in Singapore, the Operations Analyst is responsible for performing periodic reviews in accordance to the statutes set by the various financial regulators.

Duties and Accountabilities

  • Perform Periodic reviews by conducting AML/KYC due diligence on clients in Regional offices within the stipulated deadlines
  • Enter/enrich clients' data and upload documentations on TD's Know Your Customer (KYC) system
  • Work closely with the Sales and Trading desks and potentially interact directly with clients as required
  • Conduct client outreach primarily by emails and occasionally via phone calls
  • Liaise with Regional counterparts to consolidate requirements to avoid multiple touchpoints during client outreach
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g. Sales and Trading desks, Data Services teams, etc.) on queries/suspension of codes on trading and book of records systems
  • Liaise with regional Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) teams for escalations / guidance
  • Involve in projects for new processes or industry initiatives, and internal / external audits
  • Ensure knowledge of AML regulations and compliance policies are always current and applied on a regular basis
  • Refer or escalate processing or operational issues as needed based on a solid understanding of the issue, connecting with the appropriate function/partner to facilitate resolution and ensure that service quality is maintained
  • Contribute to business objectives for operational excellence -- identify, suggest and actively participate in improving standards, policies, procedures, and solutions
  • Conduct Business Acceptance Test for KYC system upgrades and patch releases
  • Actively participate in developing, testing and implementing new or enhanced processes and other process improvement initiatives
  • Perform ad-hoc amendments to KYC system in accordance with on-demand requests
  • Perform ad-hoc name screening for requests received from regulators or enforcement agencies

Attributes:

  • Diploma/Degree holder
  • 1-2 years experience in KYC/CDD, preferably in Wholesale Banking
  • A good level of attention to detail and checking skills
  • Day to day decisions made without supervision or review
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Work successfully as a member of a team and independently
  • Ability to analyze, research, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including EXCEL, WORD and POWERPOINT
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated and willingness to learn
  • Well versed with the KYC requirements as suggested by major Asia regulators (e.g. MAS & HKMA)
  • Experience in developing solutions using Python, Alteryx, Power Platform, VBA is a plus
  • Knowledge in AML Screening Tools and Sanction programs is a plus
  • Ability to hold conversational Korean/Japanese language to communicate with Korean and Japanese clients would be a plus
