Job Description:

The Composition development engineer develops software of limited complexity.

Provides primary support for one or more complex correspondence application design. Hands on application development and correspondences design capabilities, the ability to participate within support activities, works under direct supervision.

Position concept

The Composition development engineer integrates applications and provides 24x7 application support. Collaborates on all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) with focus on the application design, development, and implementation phases. Utilizes Designer/Manager development tool, Command Center navigation and job flow coding, Linux system scripting to manipulate file location and data files storage in keeping with IT and specific to Exstream composition development architecture.

The essential job functions, primary duties, and responsibilities:

  • Develops complex software based on specifications provided.
  • Executes the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the assigned deliverables under the guidance of resource and senior manager/staff.
  • Participates on an Application Development as well as project teams under direction of manager, senior team member or/and project managers.
  • Provides 24x7 primary support for all the composition applications typically classified as 'niche' or 'core' and 'mission-critical'.
  • Acquires and maintains appropriate to Exstream development technical skills.

Depth & Scope:

  • Expert knowledge of specific domain or range of engineering frameworks, technology, tools, processes and procedures, as well as organization issues
  • Expert knowledge of TD applications, systems, networks, innovation, design activities, best practices, business/organization, Bank standards, and may fulfill a governance role
  • Expert knowledge and experience in own discipline; integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities
  • Acts as a key contributor in a complex and critical environment
  • May provide leadership to teams or projects; shares expertise
  • Applies in-depth skills and broad knowledge of the business to address complex problems and non-standard situations

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Graduate degree
  • Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering)
  • 7 + years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Java Programming language
  • Experience of utilizing OpenText ExStream Designer/Manager software, knowledge of v16.6.1 and higher.
  • Hands on experience with specific management software development expertise in ExStream Dialogue/OpenText, Command Center navigation, development and Linux environment
  • Specific hands-on experience includes with architecting PUB files, creating variables and mapping them to data files; tables design and coding, reference files data elements, formulas, tagged logical elements (TLE) and NOOP.
  • Experience in writing batch jobs, senior level expertise with ExStream output format handling AFP, PDF, XML, reporting and other deliverables.
  • Experience in ExStream upgrades (important to have).
  • Ability to debug print, dynamic content, responsive design and other integration challenges in production environment.
  • Ability to provide accurate time and dependency estimates for ExStream road map projects based on business requirements.
  • ExStream complex templates and flow pages creation, documenting templates, and applications
