Job Description:
The Loan Operations Manager II manages or oversees operations of several functions or processes within Loan Operations. This position directly manages a staff of individual contributors.
Depth & Scope:
- Oversees operations of several functions or processes within operations
- Develops and manages the team by recruiting, training and coaching
- Leads and applies the performance management process, supporting Employees in their personal and performance development
- Continuously accesses the quality of team member performance, incoming volumes, productivity, capacity, SLAs and metrics
- Establishes policies and procedures to manage the performance of units supervised
- Provides leadership in the absence of the department manager or may represent the interests of the department in committees, presentations, etc
- Serves as change agent to identify and implement continuous improvement within teams
- Provides recommendations toward strategic vision and tactical goals
- Participates or leads multiple projects within department or across divisions
- Develops relationships with management of internal and external functions/departments to enhance productivity of managed units
- Influences others to gain support and sponsorship for departmental initiatives
- Manages bank conversions as they pertain to managed operational units
- Develops effective strategies and tactics to ensure successful completion and implementation of project goals and service level agreements.
- Develops and maintains an overall operating budget, ensures adherence to budget, and takes corrective action as necessary
- Delegates budgetary assignments to subordinate managers
Education & Experience:
- Work experience equivalent to Bachelors degree
- 3-5 years related experience required
- In-depth knowledge of principles, policies, and practices related to operations
- Demonstrated leadership, delegation, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Demonstrated ability to resolve operational issues and conflicts
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated problem/conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant banking and regulatory rules and policies
- Proven ability to balance competing priorities and make sound decisions within, and outside of, established policy
- Proven ability to develop new policies and procedures in response to, and in anticipation of, changes in the business environment
- Work supervised is generally divided into 6 to 10 (or more) diverse operational units with total Employees supervised generally ranging from 75 to 250 Employees
- Exhibit forward thinking capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership experience managing team responsible for posting timely payment exceptions.
- Experience engaging with other business lines to post bankruptcy, foreclosure, loss mitigation payments.
- Manage all payment exceptions and resolve un-applied balances timely.
- Mortgage servicing experience
