Job Description:
TD Securities Treasury Solutions provides treasury management products to US/Canadian public companies and the subsidiaries of global multinationals. Treasury management consists of the collection, disbursement, liquidity management and the related information technology required to implement this. Treasury Solutions provides the linkages between these large corporate clients and the global payment systems through a variety of technology-based products, supported by high caliber sales and execution personnel. Each client typically receives a bespoke solution which allows their systems to connect with those of TD to facilitate money movement on an automated basis. Treasury Solutions has teams throughout Canada and the US and call on clients around the world.
Role Overview
This is a client management focused role.
We are seeking a recruit with the capability to add value today, with the potential for a long-term career within our team. The Associate will support a portfolio of clients which require day to day servicing including the implementation of cash management services.
As a member of the Treasury Solutions team, you will be a key point of knowledge for client servicing as well as revenue generation from the portfolio of existing clients. Associates are expected to act as trusted advisors on complex cash management solutions and advise the senior relationship managers as well as leadership team on any notable client concerns or issues, or risks facing TD Securities overall.
This position is based in New York. Progression within the team will require gradually more travel to meet and build relationships with clients. A willingness to relocated is advantageous, but not essential, as we have plans for growth globally.
Job Accountabilities
The Associate is responsible for the following tasks:
- Understand the overall TDS client organization strategy, particularly that of Corporate and Investment banking.
- Direct accountability for driving revenue by increasing the penetration and profitability of cash management products and services on your team's portfolio
- Support to efforts of senior team members to originate new clients.
- Act as a technical expert on cash management products and their execution both internally externally to client.
- Attend client pitches with cash management team members and other TDS' calling officers, and substantively contribute to discussion/sales effort.
- With minimal guidance from more senior members of the Treasury Solutions team, complete RFP's and create pitch decks.
- Work closely with other partners in TD Securities (US and Canada) and TDBG including Investment Banking, Credit Origination, Credit Management, Foreign Exchange, Money Markets and Trade Finance, as well as Business Banking to monetize cash management opportunities.
- Oversee the onboarding and maintenance of cash management clients, including oversite of anti-money laundering compliance for your teams portfolio.
- Manage the implementation of new products and services, including negotiation of legal documents.
- Manage cash management credit facilities, including liaison with credit management and risk management functions.
- Continuously learning about new and current cash management products and managing diverse complex projects which may be client facing or strictly internal.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients with complex treasury management systems and high-quality service expectations.
Job requirements
- Relevant industry experience in banking, corporate treasury, or professional services, demonstrating a track record of accomplishment and progression is preferred.
- Expertise in treasury management gained through experience or training (i.e., CTP).
- Project management is a plus.

- An interest in technology, particularly FinTech, and a consciousness of its impact on the business.

The Global Transaction Banking function provides tailored financing solutions to help companies facilitate cross-border transactions and manage their overall business more effectively and efficiently. Develops client centric solutions by employing traditional trade finance products to help mitigate risk associated with domestic business needs or foreign sales and purchases. Supports foreign banks and their clients' needs in North America and acts as a trusted partner to mitigate risks in international trade.
The role will support two or more senior trade finance professionals located in New York to enhance client relationships and corporate origination efforts. Clients have global footprints but are mostly located in the United States and Europe.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Trade Finance Origination
- Support senior originators to meet client needs and identify new trade finance opportunities
- Understand the overall TDS client origination strategy, particularly that of CIB
- Support activity to increase sales revenue by adding new clients and increasing the penetration rate of trade finance products and services
- Become familiar with TDS clients across industries such as, but not limited to, Communication, Media, and Telecom; Diversified; Consumer Products; Industrials; and Power
- Review credit tools and financials to understand clients' requirements
- Develop relationships with key internal business partners: CIB, GTB, Debt Capital Markets ("DCM"), Global Markets Bond Desk
- Manage NY deal pipeline via Customer Relationship Management ("CRM") tools - Salesforce and internal tracking
- Work closely with GTF teams in Toronto and Vancouver
- Conduct regular market reads to gauge risk-based market pricing
- Pitch Involvement
- Prepare pitch decks & term sheets
- Arrange / engage in client calls and preparation of call reports
- Assist in term sheet negotiation
- Collaborate with product partners - Trade Finance Operations ("TFO"), DCM, Derivatives, FX, Rates, ensuring appropriate presentation contribution
- Support deal communication with Investment Banking & Corporate Banking relationship managers
- Assist in closing new business
- As new business is awarded, facilitate all aspects of facility approval, including Know Your Customer ("KYC"), & instrument issuance
- Assist Originator with review & negotiation of facility documentation with clients
- Assist in execution of trade finance strategy
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of experience
- Familiarity with financial statements and understanding of corporate credit analysis
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong presentation creation skills (PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
- High level of self-motivation and initiative
- Thorough understanding of financial markets
- Global political and financial awareness
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to adapt presentation style to client
- Ad-hoc reporting and presentation requests
