About the Job:

Taco Bell is looking to hire an experienced paralegal as a domestic franchise paralegal. This role is based in our Irvine, California Restaurant Support Center.  This position provides business-focused legal support in the area of franchising and will provide support in the areas of transactions, preparation of our Franchise Disclosure Document, and policy and compliance matters. This position works closely with our franchising, development, finance, accounting, operations, technology, and other functions at the RSC to advise on and support myriad issues relating to franchise relations and other regulatory and policy matters relating to franchising.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Provide legal support for day-to-day domestic franchise matters including purchase and sale agreements, restructures, early closures, defaults and other brand standard matters
  • Preparation and maintenance of our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD); assistance in drafting and updating in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Partner with franchisees and internal business clients on a wide range of legal issues and policy matters to ensure the achievement of business objectives while minimizing legal risks
  • Prepare, negotiate, review and finalize franchise and related agreements for execution by franchisees and licensees in a timely and accurate manner
  • Draft and assist in negotiations of development agreements to support Taco Bell’s domestic expansion
  • Act as a liaison to departments within the corporation including finance, development, technology, accounting and operations

Is This You?

  • Minimum of 3 years of legal experience; relevant in-house and transactional experience strongly preferred 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Completion of a paralegal program with a Paralegal Certificate or Degree in Paralegal Studies required
  • Understanding of commercial contracts, franchising, corporate documents, and corporate entity formation and estate planning, preferred
  • Experience in restaurant or retail industries a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with all levels of the organization including management, peers, and clients

Salary Range: $87,100 - $105,000 annually + bonus eligibility + benefits
