About the role
As the Digital Product Manager, you will be responsible for developing the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the product or capability. You will utilize your business and technical acumen, including contributing to business case development and technical direction to manage the product throughout the product-market lifecycle. You will build consensus with business, technical, and other internal partners using a variety of product development research techniques and product management frameworks to ensure business outcomes are achieved.

- Develop, document, and communicate the product strategy, grounded in enterprise strategic objectives, and utilized in prioritization exercises. Collaborate closely with customers and business partners to define long term outcomes aligned to business goals. Partner with designers to discover best solutions for customer problems. Collaborate with technology partners and/or vendors to explore and communicate technical possibilities and draft recommended and alternative options.
- Use your experience with Agile methodologies to enable delivery of high-quality, sustainable solutions. Partner with product owner to ensure the team has a healthy product backlog with clear, measurable outcomes. Support delivery teams, encouraging best practices to ensure technical stewardship (pipeline, infrastructure, security, operations, service management), high quality and reliability. Ensure policies, standards, and/or best practices are followed for definition, architecture, compliance, risk management, security, deployment, procurement, and support. Manage issues and risks. Regularly reflect with the team to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
- Act as primary contact and acknowledged expert on product domain. Communicate effectively using a variety of media (written, verbal, visual) to evangelize ideas, product vision, and product roadmap. Write in a clear, compelling, and concise manner. Communicate frequently and capably with a variety of audiences, including delivery and operations teams, members of the product team, and business partners.
- Evaluate, analyze, understand, interpret, and communicate insights derived from data. Ensure measurement capabilities are in place to prove success or inform product decisions. Work with senior product people to measure and quantify impact. Use qualitative and quantitative data from appropriate sources for a variety of purposes, including conducting root cause analysis, assessing opportunity size, cost benefit analysis, ROI, NPV, competitive analysis, etc. to support decision making and identify opportunities.
- Leverage influence and credibility to lead high performing teams. Evangelize the product vision. Appropriately utilize UX design, user research, and product development techniques. Maintain current knowledge of industry and technology trends. Display Symetra's Leadership Commitments often.
- Utilize learning events and online learning opportunities to develop and enhance core competencies related to the role. Participate in Community of Practice events and asynchronous activities.

Compensation
Salary Range: $107,200 - $178,700 plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.
Requirements
Your education, experience and skills
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner representing the business need, priorities, and technical solutions. Solid understanding of enterprise systems.
- 2 or more years of experience working as a member of an agile team.
- 1+ year of experience working within a highly regulated industry and/or advanced domain knowledge.
- Advanced analytical thinking and problem solving related to how technology can solve business problems.
- Ability to take ambiguous information and organize into meaningful facts.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and educate key internal stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and consensus building skills when dealing with internal customers, stakeholders, and team members.
- Ability to facilitate small interdisciplinary group sessions ensuring success through preparation and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and influence interdisciplinary team members and stakeholders across the enterprise.
- Ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment and builds trust with others.
- Scrum Product Owner, Scrum Master, or similar agile management certifications preferred.
