We are looking for a developer of the Open Source test automation framework openQA which is used to test Linux distros such as openSUSE , Fedora and Debian and many more. We are looking for enthusiasts who enjoy learning new things, motivated by opportunities to improve things and enjoy working as part of a DevOps team.

What working in the team looks like

The DevOps team maintains production instances of openQA, most of which is deployed using salt, GitLab CI or GitHubActions. That includes monitoring via Grafana and working closely with test developers and reviewers. openQA is mainly written in Perl and Javascript. We also use Python and bash depending on what's most suitable for the task.

We build packages in OBS (Open Build Service) , as well as containers used in CI and to run openQA itself.

Chat and video calls help us clarify open questions and help each other.

As our responsibilities are varied, some team members focus more on development while others work on infra or tooling related to released products and update validation.
