Job Summary:

The Senior Principal Clinical Researcher will, through a combination of original research and analysis, develop content and relationships with industry experts to articulate the value that Surescripts' clinical and data and analytics portfolio offerings bring to increased patient safety, lower healthcare costs, and ensured quality care.

The position collaborates with business leaders, data analysts and other cross-functional partners to identify and understand data needs to find new opportunities on how data can help Surescripts fulfill its mission.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with leaders across the enterprise to align the research agenda and lead original research, quality improvement studies and analysis of Surescripts product services to identify best practices, inform industry and internal business decisions, and further patient safety.
• Develop a library of original "clinical thought leadership" content to highlight Surescripts' network and solutions (e.g., manuscripts, conference papers, blogs, white papers, etc.), ensuring the organization stays at the forefront of industry trends, supporting corporate initiatives and/or products in a timely manner and accurate insights.
• Direct initiatives to evaluate complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources. Bringing expertise and subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret and produce research results.
• Serve as a clinical research expert to Data and Analytics team with respect to new product development, product design, and value proposition development.
• Present clinical research and analytic insights at industry events, trade shows and Surescripts meetings. Attend relevant healthcare and medical professional conferences and build relationships with industry thought leaders to educate them about Surescripts and relevant initiatives.
• Establishing industry partnerships with academic centers, medical associations, or governmental agencies to conduct research, and/or research on public health topics that support Surescripts' mission.
• Collaborate with Surescripts Data Governance Committee to establish and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance.
• Serve as the primary leader to determine appropriate journal selection for publishable manuscripts and oversee the publication submission process.
• Manage research project budget, resource allocation, and operational efficiency of research function.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
• PharmD and/or PhD or equivalent advanced degree
• 10+ years of experience in related, progressive roles
• Experience writing research grants and proposals to secure research funding
• Experience publishing various types of manuscripts (e.g., editorials, white papers, research projects)
• Experience in retail pharmacy, mail pharmacy, or hospital pharmacy practice settings or a combination of pharmacy practice and relevant industry experience
• Experience preparing and presenting materials for C-suite level executives

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in conducting clinical research within a corporate environment
• Prior experience service as a clinical subject matter expert for business development assessments
• Ability to innovate the use of advanced analytics in clinical care
• Ability to articulate valuable analytics questions
• Ability to interpret statistical analysis and act as a data translator (ability to translate raw data into actionable insights for internal/external customers)
• Knowledgeable about drug development process, value-based contracting, and Centers Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement models

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $190,600 - $233,000 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
