Job Summary:
The Principal Portfolio Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and execution of go-to-market strategies and tactics for products in their portfolio. In addition to exhibiting a deep understanding of their products, they must also have knowledge of all targeted segments and the buyers within those segments. This includes, but is not limited to, an understanding of the segment business challenges that are addressed by their portfolio. They will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in the promotion of their portfolio of solutions including the development of sales enablement and marketing assets that influence buying decisions. The Principal Portfolio Marketing Manager must work cross-functionally within the Marketing team and across multiple Product Innovation teams to drive growth & unification of the products in their portfolio.

Responsibilities:
- Define the target market(s) and persona(s) for each solution. Conduct market and customer research to gather insight about the market, business challenges, personas, buyer needs and purchasing process for the purpose of developing effective product marketing campaigns.
- Develop product positioning, differentiation, value propositions and messaging that will resonate with the buying audience of each targeted market segment and influence a positive outcome for Surescripts.
- Lead the launch of new products into existing and emerging market segments.
- Develop product-level marketing plans that include (but not limited to) demand generation and adoption campaigns, sales enablement, product and/or feature launches, partner program tactics and source messaging for marketing and sales. The scope of plans will align with Product Innovation business needs.
- Deliver subject matter expertise and resources to marketing peers to produce relevant content for target buyers such as webpages, articles, press releases, customer testimonials and campaigns.
- Develop internal-use sales enablement tools such as competitive comparison guides, messaging maps including competitive differentiators, backgrounders, FAQs and talking points.
- Engage in and contribute subject matter expertise to internal work groups focused on industry-level initiatives where products are involved, and industry and/or customer positioning.
- Develop external facing marketing materials for use by internal and external partners.
- Engage with Surescripts customers for the purpose of developing product champions and developing customer testimonials and case studies for external and internal use.
- Create and deliver presentations focused on the value of assigned products to internal and external audiences.
- Monitor and report on the performance of market-facing marketing programs and sales enablement programs.
- Develop competitive insights and strategy to shape go-to-market strategies.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of progressive product marketing experience.
- 5+ years of b-to-b marketing experience.
- Experience in health care (B2B product or Consumer), health information technology, and/or network technology marketing.
- Portfolio marketing experience.
- Possessing knowledge of all company segments & their buyers.
- Driving company portfolio marketing strategy and product unification.
- Experience developing product positioning and developing and delivering targeted marketing plans using a full range of marketing disciplines, including but not limited to digital marketing, social media, interactive media, video, advertising, tradeshows/events, direct marketing, press relations, sales training and support, and collateral creation.
- Experience working with external partners to cultivate product champions.
- Experience communicating with and influencing people at all levels of the organization.
- Product launch and brand positioning experience.
- Demonstrated strong project management skills.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills - writing, presentation development and delivery.
- Strong analytical skills and business judgment, with the ability to discern market requirements from market preferences.
- High proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree/MBA.
- Healthcare experience marketing Data and Analytics solutions to Life Sciences, EHR, health plan, PBM, pharmacy, health system or health technology vendors.
- Product management and/or sales experience is a plus.
- Strong business acumen.
- Certification by Pragmatic Marketing, Forrester, or Gartner for Product Marketing skills.
- Experience with management and administration of marketing elements within SalesForce.com (CRM).
- Experience with project management programs, such as Basecamp, JIRA, etc.
- Familiarity with marketing automation and/or email marketing technology, such as Eloqua, Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot, Exact Target, etc.
Travel:
- Approximately 20 - 30% travel within the US for conferences, internal company meetings, and customer meetings.

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $146,900 - $179,500 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
