Role Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of duties including mechanical/electrical and PLC repair and troubleshooting, welding/machining and preventative maintenance.
- Provides technical and problem-solving support (Break Down Analysis) for the plant.
- Supports and executes plant specific maintenance strategies to achieve plant's key performance goals for overall maintenance performance.
- Works with plant maintenance & production leadership to develop preventative maintenance plans to reduce equipment downtime.
- Must be able to follow instructions related to machinery to include training, machinery adjustments, trouble shooting and can detect mechanical/electrical deficiencies or failure in operations.
- Must keep equipment in proper operating condition to achieve target overall equipment effectiveness.
- Must maintain quality standards for maintenance, adherence to scheduling and departmental/ equipment cleanliness
- Participates in root cause problem solving.
- Identify and eliminate waste in process.
- Ability to be certified for your department (if applicable)
- Sanitation duties to keep working area clean and organized always.
- Safety is everyone's responsibility; identify risks and report violations, near misses, or injuries immediately.
- Knowledge of GMP's, safety standards, quality standards and demonstrated ability to react and communicate effectively to issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Average to above average attendance and performance/safety records
- Internal Candidates: Must have at least 24 credit hours of approved coursework toward a certification in Industrial Maintenance
- External Candidates: Must have a minimum of an Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, HVAC or Industrial Electricity. May also accept documented equivalent Military mechanical maintenance training/education and experience or successful completion of state certified apprenticeship program for equivalent relative craft.
- Standard Timing Model: 45 Minimum
- PI Predictive Index Survey - evaluates behavioral traits (if required)
- Demonstrate the ability to read, write, and comprehend English with understanding as it relates to job tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively and develop rapport with internal and external stakeholders
- Must have ability to perform math functions.
- Must have a basic understanding of simple tools and be able to operate them.
- Must not be afraid of heights
- Be able to work any shift.
- Experience working in a Maintenance position.
- Experience with Welding, PLC's, Electrical and preventative Maintenance
- Display a team work attitude
Be able to physically perform all aspects of the position. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Lift 40 lbs. on a constant basis and 60 lbs. on an occasional basis, from floor to shoulder height. When situations arise where you are required to lift more than 50 lbs., It is recommended you use any Company provided equipment that you are qualified to operate, or the lift should be performed by two employees.
- Climb a minimum of twelve flights of stairs (12 steps / flight) in succession
- Work in a confined space environment with PPE
- Able to bend and stoop.
- Have acceptable (or corrected) visual acuity and depth perception. Have acceptable (or corrected) hearing.
- Must be able to work in extremely hot or cold and dusty conditions.
- Ability to report to work and stay for duration of the day.
- Work independently in satellite locations
- Respond quickly to alarm activations
- Work on overhead systems
- Driving a company vehicle on and off company property
