Reporting to the Senior Director, Global External and Brand Communications, the External Communications Manager will support Suntory Global Spirits global corporate media relations, executive visibility and social media channels. This person will support the planning, development, execution and measurement of communications across Suntory Global Spirit's corporate external channels with a focus on priority storytelling around our company, people and brands to key stakeholders.

The Manager will also work closely with other Corporate Communications team members globally and with colleagues from Suntory Holdings to ensure work is coordinated across external channels. As a member of the Corporate Communications team, they will also support broader team priorities, including Global Town Halls, employee recognition programs and Suntory Holdings communications initiatives as needed.

Role Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, development and execution of external communications and media relations strategies relating to the company's priorities.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining the company's media bureau, including creating consistent messaging, fact sheets, executive bios, talking points and reactive statements and making sure all materials are up to date.
  • Track open media opportunities and ensure all messaging and briefing documents are archived appropriately.
  • Plan and write company profile stories, to be shared across the company's platforms as well as content for external channels including suntoryglobalspirit.com and corporate social media
  • Track social media engagement against goals with regular reporting and analysis to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support social media engagement for our executive team, providing regular content for leaders to post to drive thought leadership.
  • Compile media reports and coverage and responsible for daily media newsletter tracking company, competitor and industry news and trends, working to proactively identify media angles and reporters we should connect with to tell our story.
  • Support media and social reporting and analysis across external channels.
  • Stay abreast of all industry news, constantly working to build media and commercial acumen.
  • Champion Suntory Global Spirit's employer brand and status as employer of choice by developing engaging content across priority themes and support Great Place to Work applications submissions.
  • Help to build and maintain annual Corporate Communications Calendar, tracking key moments across internal and external engagements.
  • Partner with Suntory Holdings for traditional and social media, aligning planning, narrative development, results reporting, best practice sharing and more.
  • Plan, write and post stories about Beam Suntory employees and leaders, in support of the company's employer brand.
  • Participate in media events and speaking opportunities both in and out of the office.
  • Provide on-site support to content shoots as needed.
  • Support and take an active role in team priorities, such as Global Town Halls and other employee events and communications, as needed.
Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills. Ability to work within a matrixed organization.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects and thrive in a rapid-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Three to five years' work experience in communications or related field.
  • Adept at managing multiple, competing deadlines with a positive, "can-do" attitude and a gl.
  • Strong team player, eager to roll up sleeves and support broader initiatives as they arise.
  • Collaborative style, works well in cross-functional teams.
  • Global viewpoint with ability to think cross-culturally.
  • Ability to travel, including global travel.
  • Office-based role with flexibility to work remotely up to 40% of the time.
The salary range for this role, based in New York, is $105,000 to $115,000, along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. The salary range is commensurate with the candidate's location, experience, and skillset.
