We are seeking a Sr. Clinical Contract Associate to join our Trauma and Extremities Division to be a remote employee in Austria or other approved region in the EU. The Sr. Clinical Contract Associate is responsible for the initiation, negotiation, and amendment of research contracts in collaboration with Clinical Study Managers. In this position you will collaborate with internal stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, Clinical, Professional Affairs, Finance, and High Risk Payment Teams) to ensure that generated contracts comply with the applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and timelines. Additionally, you will work with external stakeholders to ensure contracting and payment processes are understood. You are responsible for maintaining a comprehensive understanding of federal regulations and compliance standards, including those related to Healthcare Providers (HCPs).
What you will do
- Interact directly with institutions and investigators to drive research initiatives in line with strategic goals.
- Work in a virtual team environment, emphasizing high engagement, effective communication, and accurate tracking/documentation.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with institutions and investigators.
- Process new research proposals through internal review and approval following company policies.
- Initiate and negotiate contract terms, including associated budgets, for new contracts or amendments.
- Coordinate clinical vendor agreements and manage contract activities, ensuring compliance and auditing.
- Communicate and support timing expectations with key stakeholders during agreement negotiations.
- Secure and record contract approvals from relevant stakeholders.
- Process payments according to contractual obligations and company policies, including High-Risk Payments.
- Track payments for existing contracts and maintain open communication with investigative sites.
- Provide strategic contracting support to internal and external stakeholders with a focus on timely solutions.
- Utilize negotiation skills for contractual terms with customers.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive approved initiatives to streamline processes and save time and money.
- Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced colleagues, reviewing their work and assisting in their training.
- Coordinate with management to resolve complex issues associated with domestic and international contracts, working closely with CRO and legal department.
- Support Clinical Operations management on department financial activities, including accruals, transparency reporting, and annual operating budgets.
- Support Clinical Study Managers' eTMF requirements by ensuring executed agreements and budgets are uploaded to the system.
What you will need:
- You have a bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law or a similar field.
- For this job you have a minimum of 3 years experience in a related work field.
- Previous clinical contracts experience working at an investigational site, CRO or sponsor is a plus.
- It would be ideal if you have previous clinical contract experience including negotiating budgets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Microsoft Excel, SharePoint and MS Teams. (preferred)
- Previous work experience using financial systems. (preferred)
