Job Description

The Technology Platform Engineering & Operations (TPEO) group with State Street IT seeks a self-directed IT intern with a passion for technology, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor.

As an IT Intern at State Street you would work with the Infrastructure Solutions Engineering Team within the iCTO International organization, your main responsibility will be to help execute cross tower technical solutions for complex infrastructure projects within the EMEA & APAC region. This team performs the cross-functional/system integration activities. You will be involved in solutions planning & tracking for new business integration, technical transformation programs and complex cross-platform projects.

The below is what we are looking for but you may not have it all, we will expect you to learn and bridge the gaps of which we have a great learning platform called Degreed, with a wide range of learning materials and sources for you.

What you'll do:

  • Collaboration: Assist the team with their ongoing complex tasks to ensure they have the support to deliver, such as:
  • Solution Planning : Help gather Business Requirements, Due Diligence for New Business Integration (NBI), Transformation Programs and complex cross-platform projects.
  • Solution Design : Design, POC participation & support, build specifications, Business case development
  • Service transition : Assist teams transition solutions into fully supported operational service.
  • You will get exposure and experience in a wide variety of areas, for example: IT Financials, the Risk & Regulatory Environment for IT Financial Services companies, Data Center Strategy, Migration to Cloud, Demand Management, IT Asset Management, IT Vendor Management, Technology Lifecycle Management, Platform Engineering, Production Management, Critical Systems Engineering (Data Center, Networks).

Required Qualifications:

  • To be undertaking an Undergraduate degree or similar industry qualifications/certification in an IT discipline (Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems)
  • Proven ability to effectively manage time and balance priorities across simultaneous assignments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well in teams
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
