Stewardship Analyst - AVP (State Street Global Advisors)

The Stewardship Research team is a global team responsible for undertaking research including conducting engagement campaigns with issuers on both corporate governance and sustainability topics, developing thought leadership, and contributing to the development of analytical frameworks to support our proxy voting activities. As a team member, you will support the Head of Stewardship Research to achieve the objectives of the team.

This position is located in Singapore and will report to the Head of Stewardship Research.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Work closely with senior corporate governance and sustainability experts to develop and implement global stewardship activities
  • Support the design of engagement campaigns with global corporate issuers on emerging topics
  • Monitor evolving sustainability-related disclosure and market trends
  • Review company disclosure on sustainability topics and support analysis of sustainability-related proposals
  • Assess climate transition plan disclosure for portfolio companies across carbon-intensive industries
  • Contribute to the development of thought leadership, insights, and analytical frameworks related to sustainability topics
  • Support engagement and voting data analysis and reporting

Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in corporate engagement, proxy voting, or a related field
  • Expertise in one or more sustainability-related topic. Environmental and/or sector specific knowledge is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant sustainability reporting frameworks such as TCFD, SASB, SBTi, etc.
  • Master's degree in a sustainability-related field preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to present information in an organized, clear and engaging way
  • Strong interpersonal skills with comfort working independently and within a team setting
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, demonstrating initiative and the ability to prioritize workloads
  • Ability to navigate an increasingly complex environment and maintain focus on our core fiduciary responsibility
