Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an Assistant Vice President for the Data Governance function for the financial risks and non-financial risks related data within the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).

ERM's role is to ensure that all the risks encountered by State Street are properly and pro-actively identified, well-understood and measured and prudently managed. High data quality is the basis of data-driven business processes and models, essential in seeing the true picture of the ongoing activities and risks, and enhancing effective risk management and decision-making. Data quality improvement efforts are important part of the data governance.

Create and manage Data Governance framework for SSBI GmbH ERM, including data quality reporting, issue management and the automated data quality checks environment. Contribute to the project for transforming the risk data aggregation and reporting process Contribute to project for the data lineage and artifacts being identified, stored in Collibra, and periodically maintained. Help create a library for the Data Provider / Consumer Agreements in partnership with data experts in operations and IT to define Key metrics and Critical Data Elements sources, data distribution approach, data quality checks or controls, and communication standards for data processing issues, delays or change management for data source updates. Work with the data stewards across the organization to ensure open ended data issues are addressed and deliver structure and conformance to the standards laid out for the team vis-à-vis materiality.

What we value:

These skills will help you succeed in this role:

  • Experience in Financial Services and Data Governance, preferably within the context of Banking and/or Financial Risk.
  • Knowledge of the Information Technology / Data Management in Banking with working experience as an engineer, business analyst or project manager.
  • Appreciation for the value of data in technology systems and the need for governance and controls around data, prior experience in data management preferred.
  • Experience with Collibra would be a big plus.
  • Past experiences in Business Intelligence/ Reporting Tools (Spotfire, PowerBI, etc.) or with Business /IT controls, a value added.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization. Ability to develop / manage relationships at all levels and to effectively collaborate with corporate functions
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Demonstrated strong analytical abilities and reasoning skills with attention to details.
  • Team player in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, economics, or related field with a proven affinity to financial services
  • At least 5 years of experience in roles related to governance, data or risk management, ideally with proven people management experience
  • Data Governance and/or Data Architecture experience would be a strong asset.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines with multiple deliverables.
