Job Description

The position of Relationship Manager, within the North American Relationship Management team, is responsible for State Street Asset Manager and/or Alternatives clients based in the United States. Additionally the RM AVP will support the Teams' Senior Relationship Executives with their engagement on some of the larger clients. The role presents an opportunity to engage with senior executives both internally and with industry leading asset managers to help shape and drive State Street's strategy in servicing our key longstanding relationships.

This role can be based in Boston and Sacramento.

As part of the remit, the Relationship Manager will cultivate a solid understanding of the client's business and the services provided by State Street, with the objective of optimizing client satisfaction, ensuring that the client experiences a best of breed service at State Street while identifying and driving new business opportunities to close.

The RM both leads and collaborates with their Sales and/or Senior Relationship Manager counterpart in commercial negotiations, and will ensure compliance with contract terms. The RM will also assist in analyzing and managing the client P&L, and will oversee relationship financials.

Expected leadership behaviors include an ability to contribute to team excellence, excellent collaboration and communication skills, and willingness to drive strategy and engage with the client across its global locations.

Responsibilities

  • Will be responsible for managing a grouping of client relationship. May also support Senior Relationship Executives in their client remit(s).
  • Strengthen and deepen relationships with our clients. Deliver constant monitoring of the client's perception of the quality of our services (NPS score), partner with business leads to maintain strong focus on client service and requirements.
  • Manages assigned client(s) to development of new business and/ or products while retaining existing revenue streams.
  • Responsible for achievement of organic, incremental growth, new business committed revenue, and overall target revenue goals with assigned client(s).
  • Supports the preparation of account plans and the delivery of business overviews to internal stakeholders for assigned client(s) to include but not limited to pipeline, trending, and year over year analysis.
  • Maintains all relevant data for their assigned accounts in SF360 CRM including but not limited to account information, contacts, opportunities, meetings, current providers insights, and campaigns.
  • Supports the deployment of marketing strategies that promote the full range of Company products/services through close collaboration with the various business partners. Introduces new products and service solutions to clients wherever possible.
  • Drives cohesive coordination of State Street Services to the client between client delivery, product groups, regional teams, sales staff and the client to deliver our solutions to the client.
  • Serves as an escalation point for critical service issues or roadblocks. Shepherds issues through to resolution.
  • Assists with client presentation preparation, client meetings, product collaboration, RFPs and sales execution.
  • Maintain client setiment tracker on covered clients and supported clients where needed.
  • Manages the finalization of Due Diligence Questionnaires for supported clients when received.
  • Ensures client onboarding for new assets and/or risk management activities are conducted with a high degree of client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or the equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively facilitate meetings, with all levels within the client organization - from Executive Leadership to Operational points of contact.
  • Ability to gain an understanding of client business, challenges and strategic direction and subsequently articulate value proposition for new products and solutions.
  • 7+ years of total work experience preferred with Financial Services experience in Relationship Management/Sales, Sales Management or Client Service.
  • Proven ability to earn client trust and develop relationships (internal and external)
  • Working knowledge of Financials services industry with the understanding that the AVP RM will continue to keep[ up with industry developments and trends.

Salary Range:
$80,000 - $132,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
