Who we are looking for

State Street offers a full service Liquidity & Market Risk measurement solution for sophisticated institutions within the financial markets. Reporting to the Managing Director, Risk Solutions, you will use your interests/curiosity in pattern recognition and data analytics to build custom models within liquidity risk space. Our liquidity risk model provide estimates on market depth and market impact across all major asset types. You will collaborate with other members of the financial engineering team and technical support teams in helping to design the appropriate model specifications. You will leverage your experience within model development in liquidity risk/market risk management at an asset management and/or a sell side institution to advance capabilities of the existing risk solutions. You will be directly involved in the full life cycle of liquidity risk model development from raw data analysis to model prototyping, documenting, testing and perform ongoing maintenance.

What you will be responsible for

As a Quantitative Analyst, Vice President you will:

  • Explore patterns in trade and quotes data to design testable quantitative hypothesis for liquidity risk models
  • Find and document deficiencies in existing liquidity risk models and propose alternatives backed by quantitative support
  • Work with model risk governance group to obtain model approval for use in a production environment
  • Create whitepapers and model specification documents summarizing details behind various models.
  • Advise clients and Client Service teams on complex issues surrounding liquidity risk management analytics
  • Provide financial specifications for the design of new risk management analytics functionality
  • Identify the data requirements for liquidity risk solutions and work closely with our data team to determine sources / mappings for this data
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales support in the form of product demonstrations, workshops, pilots and client implementation consulting

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong mathematical and quantitative skills as evidenced by an advanced degree in Financial Engineering/Mathematics/Computer science/Engineering/Physics or equivalent
  • 5+ years' experience working in a quantitative setting group within financial sector; Experience working with fixed income transaction and quotes data is highly desirable
  • Must be proficient in SQL, Python and R. Working knowledge with common data science libraries.
  • Experience in project management and delivery
