Who we are looking for

State Street seeks to recruit a Managing Director, Information Protection responsible for leading the comprehensive information protection program governance at State Street. This leader would bring strong industry experience building and leading cybersecurity and information protection functions and executing related strategy. This leader will be required to oversee the buildout of a comprehensive program including governance over data loss prevention, encryption management, key management, certificate management. The successful candidate must ensure effective governance is in place, drive compliance with regulatory and enterprise standards, and implement strategies with core partners to safeguard data in transit and at rest. This position requires ability to drive rapid and continuous improvement, with cross-functional collaboration and accountability to senior leaders within the enterprise.

What you will be responsible for

As the Information Protection Governance Managing Director you will

  • Oversee and manage teams who will execute the governance function for Information Protection
  • Oversee efforts to monitor and drive compliance with regulatory and enterprise information protection requirements and frameworks
  • Lead cross-functional team engagement with core partners including Legal, Business Risk Managers, Information Security Officers, Privacy, Data Governance, and more
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying new ways to receive, analyze, and report data with meaningful results
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) related to the organization's information protection efforts, providing senior leadership with regular updates and insights
  • Oversee the Information Protection council and related activities
  • Reporting on program activities to regulators and partners across all lines of defense

  • Understanding of related regulatory compliance and industry standards
  • Problem Solving and decision making abilities to respond to ad-hoc items with an ability to improve information protection strategies
  • Project management / Program Management skills to oversee implementation of initiatives to ensure on time and effective delivery

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience related to cyber operations, cryptography, data loss prevention, cybersecurity, information security or related efforts demonstrated through work, military, or education
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within a cybersecurity and/or information protection organization managing teams and delivering complex initiatives
  • Experience managing large-scale security programs with a working knowledge of the importance of governance related to operational functions
  • Experience in a first line cyber operations leadership role managing a program that has undergone audits, operational risk reviews, owned controls, managed issues in accordance with an enterprise issues management standard, and owned KRIs

Salary Range:
$175,000 - $287,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
