The Head of Investment Services (IS) Product and Commercial Office India is responsible for leading, managing and developing various diverse teams based across multiple locations in India. The role reports directly into the Country Head of India, while being functionally accountable toward the Investment Services Product and Commercial Offices.

The IS Product Office is a specialized group responsible for management, development and commercialization of products and solutions for Investment Services. The IS Commercial Office is responsible for the commercial strategy for Investment Services in order to drive revenue growth, increase market share, and position State Street as the strategic partner of choice. The role will have local leadership oversight of the all the functions in India aligned to IS Product and Commercial Office including Product Support, Product Development, Advocacy, Global Marketing, Sales & RM Enablement, Client Services, as well as Sustainability and Thought Leadership to ensure alignment to achieve strategic objectives and deliver an exceptional client experience.

The role will be based in Bangalore or Mumbai.

This role will collaborate with global product and commercial office leadership to deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting the firm's end-to-end product strategy including market research and innovation, strategic planning and development
  • Supporting the creation of product roadmaps, managing budget and resource allocations, development execution and business analyses
  • Execution of program/ project management of workstreams aligned with vision, strategy and goals
  • Providing operational support to Client services team globally covering End Client Reporting, resolving client inquiries and service-related requests, and escalating issues for remediation
  • Managing comprehensive, and centralized Metrics and KPI in support of Global Delivery executive management reports and Client Service requirement, leveraging technology ( Alteryx, tableau , power BI, snowflake)
  • Supporting centralizing contracts onto the central repository and ensuring business adheres to standard Fee Schedules, by ensuring fee schedule exceptions go through the proper governance and receive the right approvals, guaranteeing a timely billing end-to-end process
  • Supporting the development of the business strategies, including periodic reviews and business management activities, competitive Intelligence, Sales & Win Loss Analysis, Market Analysis etc
  • Supporting global marketing priorities and capabilities around content management / creation / editing, marketing analytics and industry / accounts insights and research, creative services, digital services, campaign management and performance marketing
  • Assisting senior investment advisors, conducting global research in collaboration with other global teams, to identify client challenges and provide insights into what is shaping the future of the investment industry and macroeconomic policy in relation to climate change and ESG.
  • Delivering services in an efficient and controlled manner with a continuous focus on improving quality and productivity
  • Ensuring teams in India are appropriately represented, prepared for and actively participate at internal and external meetings, presentations and due diligence reviews
  • Optimizing organizational construct to ensure resources are available and advance planning occurs to cater for growth, on-boarding, conversions, regulatory and other major projects
  • Engaging with technology (and vendors as required) on the functional specification, testing and successful on-time delivery of new capabilities
  • Effectively managing the team, inclusive of training and developing talent with a focus on setting challenging but realistic performance and stretch goals
  • Ensuring that control, risk, compliance/ethics and internal audit reviews or inspections are fully supported and there are no open or overdue actions for teams in India
  • Enforcing compliance with all corporate and local policies and procedures with particular focus on health and safety, operational risk, resiliency and business continuity

The candidate for this role will possess and/or be able to demonstrate

  • A seasoned leader with extensive business experience with the demonstrated capacity for proactive strategic leadership
  • The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker capable of developing an effective vision to facilitate the organization's growth objective. S/he will have the financial acumen, global perspective, insightful judgment and appropriate risk appetite to develop a vision for the teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, management, and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrate skills in problem assessment and resolution as well as collaborative problem solving in a complex setting
  • Possess excellent communications skills within organization and with clients.
  • Ensure deep understanding of competitive landscape and client needs by segment.
  • High quality and proven experience and track record in roles including strategic planning and product management in support of revenue generation
  • Understands State Street's business and client base, while also being aware of global technology trends
  • An ability to think strategically, managing complexity, change and multiple priorities
  • A relevant graduate degree or master's qualification that can be leveraged in this role
