The Opportunity
Investment Management (IM) is looking for an energetic, intellectually curious individual with strong analytical skills to lead the Investment Data Strategy team. This role will be accountable for defining, communicating, and driving forward the data strategy for IM, partnering with teams across Investment Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Enterprise Technology, Corporate PMO, MassMutual affiliates and external third parties.
The Team
The Investment Data Strategy team is part of the Investment Management (IM) Strategy and Governance organization. The Strategy and Governance team drives IM's strategy forward, optimizing governance and decision-making processes, analyzes, and establishes common metrics, processes, and tools and supports key internal and external stakeholders in progressing the IM target operating model. The team is also responsible for coordinating the departments strategic initiatives, Investment Compliance, and Investment Due-Diligence.

Your responsibilities would include, but are not limited to leading a team that will:
- Ensure that our strategy for sourcing, aggregating, distributing, and governing Investment data adequately that meets the broad requirements of the end-to-end investment management process
- Partner with project and development teams to ensure solutions align with our investment data strategy
- Drive tangible business value through the delivery and adoption of data governance practices including accountability model, data quality measurement, data catalog, and data consumer engagement
- Partner with teams across the organization by applying investment knowledge and other technical skills to help address data issues and implement data ecosystem enhancements
- Play a leading role in the design and implementation of MassMutual's target operating model for Investment Operations
- Provide investment portfolio reporting and analysis for the Portfolio Management team, MassMutual's business and corporate units, the Investment Committee of the Board of Directors, and external rating agencies
- Advance the interests of the department by serving in working groups outside of Investment Management when appropriate
- Oversee Investment Management's budget for market data and technology suppliers
The Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 12 years of investment data experience
- Experience developing and leading high-performing, diverse teams
- Experience as a leader in an Investment Management function
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Experience in analyzing data using business intelligence software such as: MicroStrategy, IBM Cognos, Tableau or other equivalent reporting tools
- Strong understanding of various types of investment instruments including fixed income and equity securities, alternatives, and derivatives for reporting and analysis
- Strong communication skills and ability to condense analyses into written and oral presentations and actionable recommendations to portfolio managers
The Ideal Qualifications
- Experience with the insurance industry including a working knowledge of statutory investment accounting requirements
- Proven strategies for employing a disciplined approach and detail orientation, with proven results in managing multiple deliverables
- Possesses excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Team Player / Relationship Building: Collaborative with strong interpersonal skills; able to relate to and build strong relationships with diverse internal and external audiences/constituencies; leverages the ability to deliver effectively.

Salary Range: $159,800.00-$209,700.00
