Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic leader for the Head of Research position for our mult-asset Investment Solutions Group (ISG) and Fixed Income Currency & Cash (FICC) organizations. This is a critical leadership role within the ISG and FICC teams to drive innovative investment strategies designed to meet client objectives . You will report to the Chief Investment Officer, Investment Solutions and work alongside the senior leaders from both the ISG and FICC teams across our global investment locations.
You will be responsible for and own strategy for the creation of models and signals that will be the primary driver of returns for active asset allocation, strategic allocation and tools for the investment teams to deliver on required investment outcomes for over $400 billion in multi-asset and $600 billion in fixed income assets. You will work with a broad range of clients across defined benefit, defined contribution, endowments, insurance, and official institutions across our global business. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the global multi asset and fixed income research strategy, priorities and agenda, collaboration with the investment teams on potential signals, creating a vision for research competitiveness and future active return drivers, development of tools to assist in the portfolio construction analysis and optimization, and overseeing the development of a scalable and effective analytical platform to support these efforts.
You will work closely with portfolio management teams within the ISG and FICC organizations. Effective collaboration on investment thesis' for the development and execution of research priorities will be critical. You will lead a team of approximately 15 employees across the US and APAC.
The role will be based in Boston.
Primary Responsibilities
As the Head of Research, you will own oversight of the following activities:
Research agenda
- Idea generation for both the multi asset and fixed income organizations
- Research project prioritization
- Quantitative model design
- Proprietary factor design
- Long term asset class forecasts
- Development and management of portfolio construction modeling tools
Model Ownership
- Decisions over model development
- Model risk management ownership
- Engage with external research partners
Thought Leadership and Client Interaction
- Meet with clients and consultants as required
- Create thought leadership content for promoting GA's capabilities and raising brand awareness
- Strong engagement with internal and external partners
Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
Education & Preferred Qualifications:
- 15+ years of financial services experience including experience in quantitative research
- Post-graduate degree (Masters, PhD) required.
- CFA or similar designation preferred

Salary Range:
$225,000 - $337,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
