Who we are looking for:

This position would report to Tokyo Foreign Exchange Head of Sales. Responsibility to focus on functions to expand sales business in Japan and cooperate with Trading to maximize revenue and flows. High performer who will respond and deliver on volume, revenue, onboarding, and culture goals and standards.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Act as a point of contact for customers wishing to use SSGM's direct foreign exchange services and establish ourselves as a strategic partner.
  • Ensure our customers receive appropriate placement of products, research and strategy that highlights State Streets value proposition.
  • Manage and develop client relationships in order to facilitate our FX business, including specific plans and maintenance of customer profiles to facilitate a close working relationship with your customers.
  • Interact with clients across client segments which include Asset Manager, Asset Owner, Insurance, Official Institutions, eFX clients, Hedge Funds, corporates, both regional and global - dealing and producing market updates over various communication platforms.
  • Ensure a biannual review with accounts where you are the primary account manager to ensure our customers have the opportunity to provide feedback.
  • Identify new prospects and affect a strategy to onboard these targets.
  • Work with other groups within the organization representing foreign exchange and collaborate to provide holistic answers to client's investment needs.
  • Pricing and keying in trades, sending out trade confirmations, liaising with middle and back office on trades.
  • Ensure that deep knowledge of key client decision makers is in place from C-Suite to heads of execution/back office.
  • Ensure State Street understands the broad FX and Investment needs of your clients and ensure this information is fed back through the organization through timely call reporting to inform bank strategy.
  • Ensure that we meet our regulatory expectations and strive to achieve Risk Excellence standards in conducting our business as per our compliance and market practice policies.
  • Generate daily and monthly reports on FX business - conduct analysis and monitoring of client performance.
  • Achieve our budget by working collaboratively with your colleagues both locally and internationally.
  • Work collaboratively with the market risk traders to maximize the value of the deal flow at the point of execution. This includes clear communication of all relevant information about the clients, directing the deal flow toward the desk.
  • Work closely with your manager to support sales related matters and to fully understand global and regional strategy and participate proactively in the strategy implementation.
  • Facilitate with relevant department such as credit/ERM/Ops to enhance Process approvals, maintain limits and provide supporting information on credit exposures.
  • Respond to internal queries and requests from relevant departments regarding client and sales related matters.
  • Before execution of trade with clients, ensure the required documents and credit limit are in place.
  • Assist and coordinate client events and functions.
  • Strong risk management culture - showing accountability and responsibilities in all daily activities and personal conduct.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA required
  • MBA, MS Finance, or CFA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of global market background and related work experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Word ,Excel and power point Required
  • Bilingual - working level Japanese and English
  • High ethical standards
  • Strong client relationship management orientation
  • Ability to work quickly, prioritize work efficiently and respond well under pressure.
