The ETF product specialist will lead the Americas development of a world-class offering to support the end-to-end servicing needs of ETF product sponsors. This role will conduct competitive analysis and make recommendations to changes in our technology stack and operating model, drive the strategic planning relative to ETF servicing expansion, be the primary resource for new ETF product development and ongoing ETF product management, advise executive leadership on directional changes taking place in the exchange traded fund marketplace, and liaise with issuers, securities exchanges, authorized participants, market makers, prime brokerage, index providers and other third parties in an effort to stimulate internal expertise and client growth across State Street's ETF servicing platform.

The role requires effective presentation skills, the ability to craft thought leadership content for use in the sales and client relationship process, to be an effective senior leader in providing customers with the strategic roadmap for and clear differentiation of State Street's value proposition.

The requirements will include crafting, modifying and executing on a strategic plan for the ETF service offering encompassing the full product lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct business reviews and analysis to ensure key deliverables and milestones are met.
  • Manage across multiple business units to maintain, enhance and deliver a market leading solution set that includes core custody and traditional fund services, ancillary markets services, ETF centric services with front office integration (where applicable).
  • Collaborate with multiple business units (including Sector, GRM, CCO, Delivery, and Technology) to assess client needs and expectations.
  • Perform analysis on competitors and conduct market sizing to contribute to overall product strategy.
  • Identify, evaluate and make recommendations regarding third-party vendors to assess potential strategic alliances to enhance product offering.
  • Plan and execute major development initiatives and milestones by working with Sector, CPO, Technology, Delivery, and other groups to ensure a coordinated service delivery.
  • Serve as lead spokesperson and represent State Street Investor Services for ETF services offering among industry participants and new and existing clients. Attend and participate in industry related events and tradeshows to maintain visibility and market awareness.
  • Support sales and services as needed in regards to the ETF product category, including formal presentations to clients and prospects.
  • Develop product functionality scorecard and metrics to continuously track and improve product-level financial success, customer adoption trends, product quality metrics, and more.

Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of securities industry (15+ years) and ETF products (10+ years), investment strategies, index providers, market trends and competitive landscape.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable rules and regulations relating to the operation of an ETP structured as a 40 Act Fund, 33 Act Commodity, 81-102 Investment Fund, etc.
  • Familiarity with all facets of the exchange traded product market space including, but not limited to: actively-managed, index-backed and with entities including authorized participants, market makers, exchanges and transfer agency and accounting / administration operations.
  • Understanding of operational flows and business processes in ETF administration and custody
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business principles and techniques of administration, organization and management to include an in-depth understanding of the business that exist. These include, but are not limited to, knowledge of strategic and operational planning, staff management, legal and regulatory laws, financial and cost analysis

Salary Range:
$225,000 - $337,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
