As a program director, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our most strategic and important regulatory commitments. You will be the driving force behind development, execution and continuous improvement of initiatives that will span multiple businesses and teams. Reporting to the Enterprise Change Lead, you will be responsible for aligning cross-functional priorities, engaging with senior stakeholders and ensuring projects deliver on time, within budget, and in line with our strategic and regulatory commitments. The work will be instrumental in executing change across the organization.

This position requires an experienced leader with a proven track record of driving and managing successful outcomes associated with complex programs in a dynamic, high-collaborative, and time-driven environments that require thoughtful risk-based decision-making and effective execution.

What you will be responsible for

Strategic Leadership and Vision

  • Lead in the design, development, and execution of a cohesive program strategy [or large-scale project] aligned with the organization's mission and objectives
  • Act as a liaison between executive leadership and project teams to translate strategic vision and regulatory commitments into actionable plans
  • Manage and oversee a program, portfolio of projects or our large scale important regulatory commitments, managing scope, budges, resources, plans and ensuring execution delivers on time
  • Define program goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and metrics for success; ensure alignment with organizational growth and development plans as well as applicable Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
  • Act as a thought leader and experienced practitioner in the field the role must stay abreast of trends, innovations, and best practices to inform program direction.

Program Development and Execution

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all program activities, ensuring they deliver intended impact, meet all governance standards, and are executed within associated budget and timeline and Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration and coordination, managing interdependencies among programs and across organizational departments.
  • Highly organized, with a proven ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to navigate and manage complex regulatory environments and programs to drive compliance with a focus on risk mitigation.
  • Lead senior-level program reviews, continuously assessing progress, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing adjustments as needed.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively manage risks and dependencies across programs; develop robust change management strategies to address challenges and communicate impacts
  • Engage regulators (as applicable) in the strategy, execution, and evaluation of the program - providing transparency into risks, issues, dependencies and overall program governance hygiene.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, develop, mentor, and manage a high-performing team (direct or indirect), fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members (indirect and direct reports).
  • Build and maintain a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence across all program teams.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, clients, business partners, and corporate functions (and regulators as applicable).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for program-related matters, ensuring effective communication and transparency.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and meetings as a key ambassador and spokesperson (as needed and applicable).

Resource Management & Budgeting

  • Oversee program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial targets.
  • Manage and monitor budgets, forecast resource needs, and secure necessary resources to ensure program sustainability and scalability.
  • Provide mitigation plans of program risks, ensuring that risk management and compliance practices are followed.

Impact Assessment & Reporting

  • Drive the strategic transparency of the program - implementing data-driven program evaluation processes to assess impact and drive continuous improvement.
  • Present regular reports to executive leadership, the board of directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Document lessons learned, share best practices, and integrate findings into future program planning.

Valued Experience

  • Strong understanding of BCBS 239 and its principles related to risk data aggregation, governance, and reporting
  • Extensive experience working with global banking institutions or large, complex organizations, preferably in a European regulatory environment; experience in engaging with EMEA regulators and responding to regulatory responses with management of risk remediation efforts
  • Demonstrated success in designing, building, and implementing frameworks to manage data and report risks effectively
  • Understanding of risk data aggregation as it relates to data governance, data mapping and lineage, and reporting
  • Fundamental understanding of IT systems, applications as well as data architecture and IT infrastructure

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment management processes (including front, middle, back office functions) and how technology is used to enable them on and end-to-end basis
  • Masters and undergrad degrees qualified with a financial, technology or analytical discipline preferred, or relevant experience within the financial services industry
  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in driving strategy, transformation, and building out advance analytical and data-informed analysis capabilities
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
