FLSA: Non-Exempt
Compensation: $20 Hourly

Location/Hours

This is a part-time, hybrid position based out of our New York City office. It is expected that some duties will be performed on-site at least 2 days a week and some remotely, with the understanding that government and public health guidelines will help determine the extent to which it is safe to carry out in-person and onsite activities. 

All candidates must be within commutable distance of SEO’s offices at 55 Exchange Place, New York, NY 10005, upon hire.

OVERVIEW

The Alternative Investments Program Intern supports the daily operations of the Alternative Investments’ team through clerical, research, logistical, and data responsibilities. This internship is designed to provide on-the-job training and experience to college undergraduates who are interested in operations, project management, education, urban policy, and the social sciences. As a key member of the team, the Program Intern will receive various assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity, structured to enable them to gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform at a professional level.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides entry- to intermediate-level support, such as data entry, document creation, organization, and research, as needed for the day-to-day operations of the team.
  • Interacts directly with colleagues and candidates in the planning of assignments and the resolution of day-to-day operational needs.
  • Supports in various events, helping the team with the planning process, communications, logistics and scheduling.
  • Participates in the planning of projects and programs across the team.
  • Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from team members in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.
  • Conducts original research to present to team members, in group or individual meetings.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication over different media (in-person, phone, email).
  • Adaptable, particularly in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
  • Data-driven and results-oriented, with an unquestionable commitment to high quality work.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently towards assigned goals

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Currently working toward a bachelor’s degree; high school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Outlook and Zoom.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential to be successful in this role.
  • Previous experience with CRM platforms such as Monday.com and HubSpot preferred.

  • Relationship Management: Proven ability to build relationships, influence key partners and stakeholders from the SEO community, and produce outcomes through collaboration.

The compensation listed in this posting reflects what SEO believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.
