CO Salary Range: USD 88,200.00 - 156,600.00 per year

This position is eligible for our Hybrid Work Policy. Eligible employees can work from home up to one day each week.

JOB SCOPE

Leads in the planning, design, development, implementation, and execution of innovative application and platform solutions related to security, service delivery, datacenter systems supporting Charter's Wireless network. Drives identification and adoption of best in class operational practices and procedures across a multidimensional, for business as usual tasks, deployment, capacity planning, forecasting, resiliency, hardening, and DR/HA. Designs and establishes, standard operating procedures, develops and implements platform enhancements and makes recommendations for improvements. Leads implementation of approved application designs and security solutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Responsibilities include: designing, deploying, managing, and ensuring stability of the application and platform ecosystem to provide network security, high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability to effectively and efficiently support mission critical business systems.
  • Demonstrates a high level of competence in IT operations, application monitoring, deployment and configuration management, availability and performance optimization, capacity management and forecasting, cloud computing, and coordination of implementation.
  • Represents the Operations Department working closely with Architects and Engineers in designing, modeling, and implementing new technologies.
  • Become a trusted partner of our Operations team through the delivery of excellent customer service and knowledge that will allow our business to grow.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves major system issues.
  • Assists and leads efforts for design, redesign, and operational efficiencies as business objective and strategies evolve.
  • Project management - document project requirements including scope, costs, schedule, testing and terms of delivery to ensure project is completed with highest level of quality on time and within budget.
  • Research and identify technology opportunities and their application to the business.
  • Test and validate all new hardware and software for proper configuration and performance.
  • Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
  • Knows, understands and follows company policy.
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience; May require Industry Standard Certifications
  • Minimum six (6) years of System or Server Administration experience

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications
  • Systems knowledge (Linux, Unix)
  • Infrastructure knowledge (Raw Iron, Steel Cloud, ElasticCloud, OpenStack, AWS)
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • In-depth knowledge in areas of specialty for specific applications, and general knowledge of supporting or integrating applications creating platform ecosystems.
  • Basic Knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model
  • Expert knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
  • Expert knowledge of software designing software, such as Visio
  • Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly
  • Ability to use the following office equipment telephone, copier, fax, and calculator
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • General knowledge of OSI stack and application architectures

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of company products and services
  • Linux, Unix, Oracle, Splunk or other system administration certification are helpful

  • Office Environment
  • May work in Lab or Data Center/Implementation Facility environment
  • 24X7 Network Operations environment
  • Occasional travel as required

The base pay for this position generally is between $88,200.00 and $156,600.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
