You design, develop and implement high-quality OSS upgrades and enhancements using approved system architecture and designs. You program multiple OSS applications while providing application administration of OSS software. You collaborate with teams in person and digitally within an office environment.

WHAT OUR SYSTEMS ENGINEERS ENJOY MOST

  • Review existing integration capabilities, data sources and proposed solution designs for feasibility, cost and functionality.
  • Conduct design sessions to create configuration designs for implementation.
  • Create detailed design documents and functional specifications for new applications, services and system enhancements.
  • Develop core code modules, unit test tools, release notes for enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Ensure proper OSS application installation, administration, configuration and maintenance.
  • Provide on-call support to resolve OSS application issues after normal business hours.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM ENTERPRISE

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Three or more years of system administration, database development and enterprise application integration experience; Four or more years of network OSS application experience; Five or more years of application development experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of network and systems engineering concepts and system or super-system skills; Knowledge of development tools, application frameworks and testing tools; Expert in OSS applications and software.
  • Skills: Leadership and English communication skills.
  • Abilities: Ability to transform an operational need into system parameters.

Preferred Qualifications / Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
    Create and manage virtual machines (VMs) and containerized applications using technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and streamline system management using scripting and tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications and services across different environments.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices, including system hardening, identity and access management (IAM), and vulnerability assessment.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
  • Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and other network security solutions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application deployment and manage CI/CD pipelines.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve infrastructure reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant data protection and security standards (e.g., SOC2, ISO27001).

Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with video streaming technologies, codecs, or transcoding solutions.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
• Knowledge of database management and optimization (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience with load balancers, CDN configurations, and distributed systems.

The base pay for this position generally is between $78,900.00 and $139,500.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
