The Sr. Mgr., Engineering will be responsible for providing direction and leadership to designated staff. Develop and maintain product integrity strategies and oversee engineering initiatives. Coordinate and collaborate with Construction, Dispatch, Warehouse, Technical Operations and Care operations to ensure optimal customer experience. Responsible for developing capital budgets, purchasing, staff development, managing the support of existing products and the deployment of new products.

WHAT OUR SENIOR MANAGER, ENGINEERING ENJOY MOST

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Manage engineering staff involved in the design, implementation, maintenance, enhancement and troubleshooting of product delivery platforms.
  • Provide overall direction for all areas of engineering support for system locations regarding new and existing technologies and current operating standards.
  • Consult with managers regarding technical operations and strategic planning of rebuilds, network operations and dispatch, new product development and deployment.
  • Responsible for compliance with company engineering standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain good relations with local utilities, vendors, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Monitor and provide guidance in the capital budget process to ensure projects are cost effective, completed on time, and on budget.
  • Provide quality assurance support and direction to engineering staff regarding new or existing technologies, company technical quality assurance (TQA) standards.
  • Develop an effective front line Leadership team and assist them with developing their direct reports as to drive a high-performance culture and environment.
  • Monitor current procedures and tests performed in accordance with FCC standards to ensure compliance.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Manager.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications
Experience:

  • Project Management work experience - 3+ years
  • Related leadership experience - 3+ years
  • Engineering HFC and Networking experience - 7+ years

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E)

Technical skills:

  • Knowledge of company products and services
  • Knowledge of Electronic theory, Federal Communications Commission regulations and Fiber Optic theory

Skills:
Effective leadership skills with proven ability to provide effective, results oriented direction.

Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
    Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure.
    Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
    Ability to provide coaching and counseling when necessary.
    Ability to supervise and motivate others.
    Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)

Travel Ability:
Moderate Travel Required

Schedule:

  • Full time
  • Office Environment
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Experience in data processing background, including proficiency with ETL, Python, SQL, observability, and business intelligence tools
    • Prior engineering management experience
    • Prior software testing experience and leading projects
    • industry experience in telecommunications and knowledge of AAA and Wi-Fi etc

The base pay for this position generally is between $110,800.00 and $196,400.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
