CO Salary Range: USD 78,900.00 - 139,500.00 per year

JOB SCOPE

Develop, modify, enhance, and implement software systems designed to support new or existing business initiatives. Projects are usually of considerable complexity and require solid knowledge of development technologies and tools. The Software Engineer works in most phases of a project, performs maintenance, and provides technical assistance/advice on existing software solutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Code and perform unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution while adhering to business and technical requirements.
  • Code, test, debug, and enhance software.
  • Write programs according to specifications.
  • Participate in code review sessions to validate adherence with development standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Serve as an escalation point to resolve incidents and problems with software supported by the team.

  • Provide system analysis and improvement recommendations.
  • Identify and recommend system designs/requirements for software enhancements with senior team members.
  • Implement, monitor, test, and audit new software programs to maximize efficiency of software systems.
  • Participate in continuous performance improvement sessions to discuss opportunities to improve processes and/or standards.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to analyze and resolve software related problems causing operational difficulties, advising on specialized features and functions.
  • Follow established configuration/change control processes.
  • Work with team to evaluate workload.

  • BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • BA/BS in Computer Science, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Minimum of five (5) years of coding, testing, and designing software
    • Minimum of three (3) years of Database Management experience

    ADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • Strong Full stack development experience
    • Strong knowledge & experience with Python, JavaScript, Vue.js, Node.js, HTML & Rust
    • Strong knowledge & experience with building APIs & using REST & SOAP APIs
    • Strong knowledge & experience with MySQL, Oracle SQL & PostgreSQL
    • Strong knowledge & experience with python libraries like pydantic and dataclasses for data validation
    • Strong knowledge & experience with python libraries like re, paramiko, pandas, ipaddress, datetime, smtplib, telnetlib & requests
    • Strong knowledge & experience with data parsing using regular expressions (regex)
    • Strong knowledge & experience with GitHub
    • Strong knowledge & experience with Grafana & Tableau
    • Knowledge & experience with Flask & Postman
    • Knowledge & experience with VMs, Docker & Linux
    • Knowledge & experience with shell scripting & linux utilities like cron, grep & awk
    • Knowledge & experience with data collection & distribution using SNMP & Kafka
    • Knowledge & experience with ticketing systems like Jira & Remedy
    • Knowledge & experience with logging systems like Splunk & Syslog
    • Knowledge & experience with inventory sytems like Ericsson's Adaptive Inventory (Granite) & Cienna's Blue Planet Inventory (BPI)
    • Good knowledge & understanding of software security principles
    • Capable of learning new technologies quickly
    • Capable of working on loosely defined projects
    • Capable of performing duties in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
    • Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities
    • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
    • Strong problem solving, analytical and comprehensive skills

    PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • An understanding of networking protocols and concepts such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, TCP, IP, DHCP, DNS, ACLs, Firewalls, Telnet, SSH, LDAP & TACACS.
    • Minimum three (3) years of Networking experience

    The base pay for this position generally is between $78,900.00 and $139,500.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
