Senior Director, Marketing & Creative Strategy

Darien, CT

JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Dir, Marketing Creative Services leads our in-house creative studio and is responsible for developing and executing creative campaigns aligned with the company's overall marketing and business objectives. As a key member of our Marketing team, this pivotal role will require a highly talented and collaborative strategic creative leader to drive the creative vision and oversee projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will have experience leading creative teams, substantial production experience, an eye for design and proven track record of developing innovative and break-through work.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Creative Team Leadership: Manage and inspire our talented in-house creative team, including account/project management, video producers, editors and copywriters. Foster a collaborative and innovative work culture that encourages creativity and personal growth. Demonstrate creative thought leadership, keeping ahead of trends and providing proactive inspiration and recommendations to the studio team. Continually raise the bar for creative excellence and creative innovation.

Creative Ideation: Lead the vision and creative concepting in concert with the creative team and internal clients. Oversee the development and execution of multi-channel creative campaigns that align with our brand strategy achieve the business objectives.

Creative Expertise: Strong production background including commercial production, digital video, social, radio, out-of-home and print. Ability to develop compelling presentations for leadership. Web and digital experience a plus.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with peers and internal clientele to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to creative initiatives.

Brand Identity: Have a deep understanding of the company's brand identity to ensure consistent application across creative campaigns.

Innovation and Trends: Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to innovate and differentiate our creative approach. Experience, implementation and knowledge of AI supported creative a plus.

Test and Learn: Partner with the Marketing Research team to evaluate the effectiveness of creative campaigns and make strategic adjustments to continuously improve creative output.

Vendor Management: Oversee and manage relationships with external creative partners, optimizing our external resources to gain efficiencies while elevating creative output.

Perform other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to analyze, interpret data, and continually evolve creative strategy based on key learnings
  • Strong leadership and collaborative capabilities that impact and influence employees
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. Microsoft word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies and procedures
  • Ability to develop personnel and foster team environment

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing.

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

  • Marketing experience - 10+
  • Experience partnering with creative ad agencies to develop creative that delivers outstanding results - 10+
  • Television commercial creative development and production - 8+
  • Marketing project management experience - 8
  • Experience in developing television commercials for the following purposes: acquisition; upgrade/cross-sell/upsell; retention; education and brand marketing
  • Extensive experience developing direct marketing creative (specifically DRTV & FSI creative), preferably for a subscription-based business

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Design or Film Production.

Master's degree in related area of study preferred
