JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Director, Business Buyer & Competitive Insights will frame the Spectrum Business value proposition, leading the development of buyer centric go-to-market (GTM) strategies that drive Data, Voice, Video, and Managed Services growth across target audiences.

This role requires subject matter expertise related to communications technology, competitive intelligence, positioning, opportunity sizing, buyer insights and targeting. The Sr Director will leverage this expertise with strong leadership skills to manage their team's development of compelling positioning and presence in market delivered via messaging, thought leadership, partnerships, industry events and integrated GTM strategies.

This position will lead close collaboration across cross-functional teams to achieve company objectives.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the annual development of strategic GTM planning for the Mid-Market customer segment as well as industry verticals spanning small, medium and large businesses. Priority industry verticals include but are not limited to: Bars and Restaurants, Finance, Healthcare, Hospitality, Education (K - 12 and Higher Education) and Government (Local, State and Federal).
  • Develop GTM strategies to expand performance within audiences prioritized based on Total Addressable Market (TAM) sizing, competitive dynamics and alignment of Spectrum Business product solutions to buyer needs and pain points.
  • Gather buyer and competitive insights across a variety of sources to produce effective market positioning with compelling value propositions that inform GTM strategies.
  • Apply strong understanding of product portfolio and target audience details to inform well-aligned positioning and presence in market.
  • Lead QBRs to assess effectiveness of audience planning/strategies to sales achievement and adjust plans as results, market conditions and buyer behaviors dictate.
  • Leverage audience expertise to assemble ideal customer profiles, buyer personas and route-to-market recommendations.
  • Collaborate across marketing functions to ensure execution of campaigns and initiatives aligned to GTM planning.
  • Identify relevant industry organizations and/or events that offer the opportunity to expand buyer awareness and affinity, develop and execute plan toward realization of maximum benefit.
  • Influence the creation of a wide variety of marketing assets by partnering with creative production and Demand Generation teams, including content, product videos, and social media
  • Apply strong understanding of product portfolio and target audience details to inform well-aligned positioning and presence in market.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Demonstrated leadership success in developing and managing the development of comprehensive, audience specific GTM strategies
  • Experience working with Data, Voice, Managed Services and Video business solutions
  • Experience creating effective messaging, positioning and sales enablement assets.
  • Extensive knowledge of B2B audiences spanning Small, Medium & Large businesses, Decision Maker and Influencer roles.
  • Marketing experience with any or all of the following: Mid-Sized businesses, Bars and Restaurants, Finance, Healthcare, Hospitality, and Public Sector (Education, State, Local and Federal Government).
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to perform data driven evaluation, document, recommend and execute strategies quickly and accurately.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

Relevant leadership experience building and growing a high performing marketing teams of 5 or more employees - 7-10

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Progressively responsible experience in B2B marketing strategy roles focused on, vertical markets, mid-sized, and large enterprise businesses

Preferred Education

MBA or graduate level Marketing degree preferred
