As a PRINCIPAL ENGINEER II, you will focus on building resilient, automated pipelines and infrastructure to enable efficient deployments across diverse cloud and on-premises platforms. With a particular emphasis on AWS scalable solutions, the successful candidate will apply expertise in GitOps, container management, and Infrastructure as Code to enable high-availability systems in critical network environments. You will also lead the AWS team and provide guidance, mentorship, performance reviews and oversee the daily operations

  • Lead CI/CD Pipeline Architecture and Implementation: Architect, implement, and optimize end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless integration across various projects from development through to production environments. Focus on scalable, robust, and secure solutions that support complex, multi-environment deployments.
  • Drive GitOps Transformation and Tooling Adoption: Champion the adoption of GitOps at scale, implementing GitOps tooling to streamline and standardize deployments. Enable improved consistency, reliability, and security in releases across the organization's infrastructure.
  • DevOps Expertise in High-Availability Environments: Apply deep DevOps expertise to optimize and automate workflows, ensuring that deployment processes align with best practices for high-availability, security, and scalability.
  • Advanced Cloud and Virtualization Knowledge: Leverage comprehensive knowledge of cloud platforms (public and private), virtualization, and container technologies to design solutions that meet the unique requirements of diverse and distributed environments.
  • Multi-Cloud Networking and Infrastructure Proficiency: Oversee and architect resilient infrastructure solutions that address storage, compute, and networking needs across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. Apply a strong understanding of networking to support secure, efficient, and scalable cloud integrations.
  • Cloud-Native and Container Platform Lifecycle Management: Implement cloud-native solutions and container platform best practices to support robust, maintainable, and secure infrastructure. Manage container lifecycle, including deployment, scaling, and optimization across various environments.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to the team. Create and assign projects to the team which promote the goals of the team.
  • Coding, Configuration, and Scripting for Automation: Design, write, and review scripts, code, and configuration files to enhance CI/CD, automation, and integrations with various platforms. Build tools to support operational excellence across infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Drive automation of infrastructure provisioning and management using IaC tools like Terraform and Ansible. Ensure version-controlled, reproducible, and scalable infrastructure that supports rapid deployment and disaster recovery.
  • Programming and Development Expertise: Utilize advanced programming skills in multiple languages (e.g., Python, Go) to create, maintain, and enhance tools essential to CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure automation.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to design and implement highly available, reliable, and scalable systems and services related to PaaS and IaaS infrastructures


  • Cumulative experience with system installation, configuration, operations, software development, and/or database development 10+ years
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, and related container technologies
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with Chef, Ansible, Jenkins or other
  • Experience working in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role
  • Experience with Public Cloud providers, primarily AWS
  • Experience with Unix/Linux or Windows systems administration
  • Certifications in Virtualization, Kubernetes, Docker, Containers, Compute, Storage, Networking, Public Cloud and Operating System technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud computing, containerization, high-availability
  • Expert knowledge in building scalable architectures in AWS
  • Proven analytical skills to solve complex technology and business problems
  • Proven ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation skills to all levels in the organization, including executive leadership, and external forums. May need to use influential ability to lead teams to desired business outcomes
  • Effective organizational and leadership skills
  • Effective business sense and sense of urgency to achieve business results Inquisitive nature. Eager to explore new concepts and approach
  • Ability to manage and foster change
  • Ability to listen and marry multiple points of view from a technical perspective to a business perspective and synthesize against goals for recommendations
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively and independently multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Ability to show good judgment, initiative and to accomplish job duties
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships in order to influence roadmaps with business owners and stakeholders
  • Travel 10%

Education:
· BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience
