JOB SCOPE

Principal engineer is a technical leadership role with proficiency and deep expertise in building highly efficient and dynamic pipelines for infrastructure as service and CICD adoption. Position is responsible for building frameworks and drive technical solutions for GitOps adoption for video services hosted in public cloud. Works closely with the team of cloud engineers and development leaders to build strategies and align a roadmap on infrastructure as services and deployments of services in Cloud. They are responsible for driving, assisting management and other senior technical leaders on strategic roadmaps, and driving priorities to meet various objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates and makes proposals across several teams on their engineering work and helps their team members make informed decisions to align infrastructure as services
  • Collaborate with development teams to build, package, and deploy applications using containerization tools like Kubernetes.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to reuse or generalize existing services by administrating CICD models and deployment strategies Kubernetes
  • Lead technical design, implementation, and optimization of infrastructure as service
  • Build Deployment topology designs and integrations for GitOps adoption to implement highly automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Argo.
  • Play a central role in the automation of operational activities such as Automate provisioning, patching, and management of cloud resources.
  • Optimize application deployments in cloud (AWS) and ensure high availability and scalability.
  • Solves technical problems of the highest scope, complexity on cloud / Networking and Kubernetes
  • Ability to troubleshoot Kubernetes issues and optimize performance in large scale Kubernetes clusters in ECS, EKS & kops
  • Lead DevOps best practices, coding standards, and security protocols.
  • Guides conversations to remove blockers and encourage collaboration across teams.
  • Solves technical problems of the highest scope, complexity, and ambiguity for their sub-department.
  • Teach, mentor, grow, and provide advice to other domain experts, individual contributors, across several teams on CICD adoption
  • Looks for innovation opportunities between several teams with a willingness to experiment and to boldly confront problems of large complexity and scope.
  • Proposes initial technical implementation which supports architectural changes that solve scaling and performance problems.
  • Guides conversations to remove blockers and encourage collaboration across teams.
  • Provides a point of escalation for sub-department teams facing complex technical challenges.
  • Attain a measurable impact on the work of sub-department teams.

BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
    Minimum seven (7) years of hands-on experience in DevOps, systems engineering or a similar role.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Expertise in implementing infrastructure as service and Gitops models
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Argo
  • Expertise in implementation of infrastructure as code leverage Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
  • Experience with migrating workloads from on-prem to cloud in AWS
  • Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tools such as Helm, Istio, and Valero
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach to working in teams
  • Proficiency in coding and scripting languages such as Java, Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant certifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator

The base pay for this position generally is between $110,800.00 and $196,400.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
